Thanks, my mistake, it’s the printed one I have, whoops !
Ah,
*
2525p01 Flag 6 x 5 with Skull and Crossbones (Jolly Roger) Pattern on Both Sides (Printed) Parts: Flag, Decorated
then, and the same way as your pics
So, obviously, it’s the ones on the picture for 2525p01s that are the wrong way!
The frayed bits are obviously free to float in the wind and the tensed arch is
the side attached to the pole.
Thanks, my mistake, it’s the printed one I have, whoops !

Indeed seems the catalog photo is wrong as the set image and instructions show
the sticker applied as it should be like the printed ones:

2525p01s Flag 6 x 5 with Skull and Crossbones (Jolly Roger) Pattern on Both sides (Stickers) - Set 6285 Parts: Flag, Decorated
The problem could have happened by applying both stickers at the same time to
both parts positioned the same way instead of having one part flipped.
I don't know where 2525p01 come from, probably some older pirate set.
Both "Black Seas Barracuda (Dark Shark)" and "Black Seas Barracuda
{Reissue}" only have printed parts (no stickers).
2525p01 should be removed from those set.

See the inventory note:
The very first production runs of this set came with two white 2525 Flag 6 x
4 and at least one sticker sheet, however the LEGO Group switched to printed
flags very quickly. It is unknown whether one or two sticker sheets were included
in these early sets. To account for the need for the two large patterned flags,
two sticker sheets would have been needed, but evidence for only one has been
found. Since the number of sets known to exist with printed flags is much greater
than those without, the printed flags are listed in the Regular Items section.
And in the link I shared you can clearly see that the parts have stickers applied
to them.

And of course i didn't go down to the bottom of the list when looking for
the stickers.
They are always at the top.
A stupid noob mistake (you have to have them now and then to remind you to check
twice) :p
