I'm sure this video is not related to this post...
a very high qty of stores that sell on bricklink also sell on the other site,
however, not all stores that sell on both have the issue and some stores that
(as far as I can tell), only sell on bricklink also have the issue, in reality
its most likely just spaghetti code combined with some paypal update which needed
bricklink to update something on their end which they haven't done yet as
this has been happening for a while (tho its recently gotten much worse)

I think the simple answer is the right one, BL has no idea what is happening.
If they were savvy enough to do this silly conspiracy, they would have the skills

Just curious, has this happened to anyone this time around? I've had around
20 orders affected by this before completely shutting Paypal off and not a single
one completed.
Gotta love how the community has been much more affective in at least finding
semi-workarounds for this issue than BrickLink has been at A) communicating about
the issue and B) Doing anything to resolve the issue. From this message it seems
like BrickLink still hasn't even grasped what the actual problem is for its
users. It's almost been 2 weeks since the issue started appearing and this
is all we get?!
We've had 3 "paid-pending" orders in a row today, plus several a
day or 2 ago. Our experience is that these payments never clear, so there's
no point in waiting for the payment to go through since it likely won't.
One work around that seems to be helping, which was suggested to me by another
seller, is to void the transaction on PayPal, wait for the Bricklink order status
to return to "Ready", then go into the order details, scroll to the bottom
to "edit order" and then change the payment method to Stripe. Then send
the buyer a new invoice to pay. One of the three buyers today just paid, so this
option seems to work. Just be sure to communicate to the buyer ahead of time.
Now it's 4 orders in a row. Luckily, the first three have been paid after
I had voided the PayPal payment and changed the payment method to Stripe. I've
also temporarily disabled PayPal as a payment method in our store, which I was
reluctant to do but getting tired of having this issue come up repeatedly. Hoping
Bricklink is able to resolve this quickly!!

In every single reply in every single thread about this issue, sellers say that
the order status NEVER updates to Paid, and they are unable to manually update
it. The order will expire and there's nothing sellers can do about it except
void the payment on PayPal, switch to a different, non-PayPal payment method,
and then manually invoice the buyer and hope they re-initiate payment through
Stripe. Why does Bricklink persist in disseminating this fiction that these PayPal
transactions will magically "update" to Paid?
And why does Bricklink persist in perpetrating the fiction that this is a PayPal
issue when it is very clearly a Bricklink issue?

What is the official word or updated status on this really important issue??
Your very poor job of communicating or updating to sellers and customers on this
problem is seriously unacceptable!
I personally don't depend on Bricklink for my livelihood, I just sell and
buy as a hobby.
However, there's many many fine folks here on this marketplace that do.
I haven't visited, browsed, or even posted in the forum in like ages (10+
yrs).
It's such a shame that I gotta post on here.
I am because I don't see admin or TLG or whoever it is running the behind
the scenes, taking this particular issue seriously and treating the marketplace
with respect.
How difficult would it be to have someone send out an email or post an update
at least once during the day with what steps are being taken to determine what
is going on and how to remedy it?? I think that's a fair question and a fair
criticism of the current handling of this problem.
I am by no means a tech person but, I am not unaware that there are a lot of
(tech stuff) behind the scenes going on a daily basis normally, much less
when serious technical issues arrive.
With that said, there is still no excuse for not taking action to address
the marketplace of Bricklink with updates, email communications.
This has to be a priority as well! I been on here since 2007, what's
going on now is a disgrace.

Hey all, just bumping this message up.
The past 5 orders that we’ve received have all been marked as “Paid-Pending”,
and its causing some annoyance to our buyers now, as they have no clue why their
payment didn’t work. Not only is this a major inconvenience to sellers, especially
in the US where PayPal is one of the primary payment methods, but also to the
buyers who chose to buy on bricklink. It gives them a rough, unconventional experience,
which could even have a negative impact on their outlook on our individual stores.
I would really appreciate a solution or update at some point.
Is there any other seller that as also had every order flagged recently?
We had so many flagged that we turned off PayPal and are just accepting Stripe.
We were at nearly 100% of order coming in marked "paid-pending". Absolutely
wild.

We then tried disconnecting and reconnecting our PayPal as a payment option,
and our 6th order just came in with a successful payment! I’m not sure if this
will work for long, but it seems to be promising.
