Having issues attaching a picture to a forum post.
On selecting the file (96Kb, JPG) '403 Forbidden' is the result.
File seems to be attached, but on selecting preview, same answer: 403.

Anyone else experiencing this?
Yes, frequently. I haven’t determined what it is exactly that’s throwing the
error. I get around it by resaving the image as something else like a .png or
even just resaving the .jpg from a different program with a different name.
Hmmm... how about sizing? Resave it at 640 max pixel width?
~Jen
It's already at 640x480
I believe I’ve had it happen once or twice even after resaving the image, try
to go to a random image resizing site, change all sides by 1px, and save as jpg.
Not guaranteed to work, but it might

Yeah, it’s a weird bug.
The images I post come from screen capture (always the same tool, Spectacle)
or Studio renders generally converted to jpg (always the same tool too, ImageMagick).
Some pass directly, some I need to re-convert to png.
My images generally are the correct width before uploading too but that doesn’t
seem to be a factor in the errors anyway.
640x480, I had to convert it to JPG a second time….
(That is: rendered in PNG, converted to JPG, 403 Forbiden, convert to JPG under
another name.)
I think i remember that the original help page had 480x640 in it for the forum
(there are no size in it now).
There may still be some "code string" in there that mess things up at
random.
Did try 640x480 before i posted and got the 403 to.

To be clear:
For some years now, the size requirement has only been “width of 640 pixels.”
You can (try to) post a 640x48000 image (if it’s below 2MB); some did (or ‘tall’
images anyway).
Bigger images are resized to a width of 640 pixels.
Smaller images are left alone.
A few months ago, and for a few months, the “403 Forbidden” was when the forum
had to resize the image.
But, that bug seem to have been fixed and now, “[m]y images generally are the
correct width before uploading too but that doesn’t seem to be a factor in the
errors anyway.” (https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1520288 )
So it’s another problem. Half-fixing a bug is The BrickLink Way™.
We get the same kind of error on the Studio forum, which uses PhpBB and is less
restrictive in size(s) and formats. There, you try to upload a file and you
get an “HTTP Error.” And you try again with the exact same file and it works…
or not.

Grrrr - you guys don't have any work or chore to keep you busy?
Well, this morning, it was cool (25-30°C), so I lolled on the forum.
But this afternoon, it was hotter (35-40°C), so I vacuum-cleaned the whole apartement.

Don't you have a robot vacuum?
They don’t do corners (and I have a lot of corners and doors for so small an
apartment) or ceilings (I get a spider or two there). Plus the wages, union-mandated
oil baths, random murdering sprees….
I'm just glad it's not only me. I have abandoned about 10 responses over
the last 2 months as I could not attach a photo.
