BrickLink as we've known it, has stepped towards extinction. Since the day
Kim sold to TLG, I somehow knew this day would arrive, just was uncertain of
the timeline. But, in knowing TLG more that most, I knew that it would be the
"boiling frog" assault on our beloved BricLink. Believe I expressed as
much at the time...
Maybe because our timely move to exit with Kim's selling of the platform,
that I wasn’t really concerned enough over the last years. Now that we've
completely shut that door, I’m honestly left being grateful for moving on the
insight I had at the time.
Not that it’s a bad thing exactly, just that it’s no longer BL. That pure
idea has collapsed or been absorbed into TLG base. In other words, the
external LEGO spirit has been extinguished, with few unremarkable exceptions.
Between the strangling of earnest BL members all while allowing the free range
of spam type entities here, a mess now stands where a once beautiful community
stood. Thanks
To think that you could've simply kept the independent spirit of the site
while maintaining control, such high-level foolishness Oh well, thanks for
the years pre-TLG. I'll takeaway what solace I can from early realization
and by making moves well in advance of the collapse.
For some people integration of user names is a big deal. But for others, it is
nothing. For day to day operation, I don't think it will make even the slightest
difference. I use a password manager so when I need to login, it will enter my
details just as it did before. If anything, the LEGO cookies seem to last longer
than BL cookies so it might even mean I have to click the login button even less
than now. ID pictures don't mean anything to me, I've never changed mine
so no loss there. But if it cuts down on spam, that's a good thing. I'm
not really affected by scams, but if it reduces those it can also only be a good
thing for the site.

You have no sense of drama! I spent hours on the hair for my ID pic!

The perfect example of the "boiling frog" effect, in which the pot is
the already primed EU-mindset. Thanks for punctuating the point.

Or alternatively the mindset that things change, and the site needs to adapt
to keep up with modern times especially over security.

Hello!
I hear a lot about pizza and yogurt, but I have always been an OREO fan. I grew
up on those things! I would pound down and box of those and a gallon of whole
milk in no time.
But no more...
First it was the Double Stuff...OK, I was a little excited about those. I did
like the "stuff". But then OREO started to get way off track!
My wife and I laugh now as we walk through the grocery store and look at the
OREOs. I see today they have the Selena Gomez OREO.
You know, OREO has just gotten into bed with everyone. OREO has lost its cachet...their
roots...their "spirit".
Oh well...my wife still picks up a package of those crazy flavors for the grandkids.
I dont think they know what a real OREO tastes like.
Sorry for getting offtrack...
Dont get me started on putting pineapple on pizza...
Pizza! Oreos! Let’s just hope you don’t put Oreos on pizza 😅😁
In some parts of northern Sweden we have the Calskrove:
"Calskrove is more than just a pizza; it is a culinary challenge. It consists
of a baked pizza, a calzone, filled with everything that goes into a skrove meal.
Imagine two hamburgers, fries, cheddar cheese and hamburger buns – all wrapped
up in a crispy pizza dough. It is not only impressive in size but also a combination
that arouses curiosity in terms of taste."
