As a seller I understand this conundrum.

As a buyer if you have a specific list of parts you want 🤷‍♂️
It always the part you want that's wrong or missing 🤣
You don't always want to have to place another order somewhere.

Just wondering what the consensus is

As a seller you have an order for £5 the postage nowadays is a minimum of £3

One part is incorrect/missing/unsatifactory. It could be a 5p/5c part.

But to post it to correct the issue costs you another £3

Do you post the correct item or refund the 5p

Usually I’ll ship it as that way it’s a “penalty” I get which motivates me more
to not do it again, sometimes buyers insist they don’t need it shipped and a
refund does fine as they can simply get it from another seller in which case
I’ll refund the buyer + partial shipping.

I just ship the correct/missing item since that is what I would want a seller
to do if I was a buyer. I do not want my buyers to have to do any extra work
because of my possible mistake.

Like those that have already replied, I will send the part if I have it and I’ve
even sourced a part before now before sending.

My fault, I pay the penalty.

If I source I try to buy other items to resell to offset costs.

On the few occasions this has happened a buyer may say it doesn’t matter and
hasn’t always wanted a refund.

If I have the item I send it regardless of what the postage may be. If I don't
I message the buyer and offer a refund of the price of the part plus shipping.
Sometimes the buyer accepts, sometimes they say not to worry about the shipping.
