Hi,
recently I came across different stores who are giving high discounts. Further
investigating thore discounts are faked and misleading.
The store sets ridicolous prices for an item and then apply a 80% discount putting
the item´s price around 6 months avg.

i believe in some countries its illegal (or punishable by fine) but I dont know
if bricklink actually cracks down on said stores
Best to just least favourite them and buy from stores that are offering genuine
sales / prices.

It's actually illegal in UK, I would guess EU also but not sure, as it breaches
price establishment legislation. Theres also a store that I'm aware of which
states 'Minifugures always 10% off, parts 20% off', which is similarly
not allowed.
Not a lot you are going to be able to do about a BL store doing this though other
than block them so you don't see their fake sales.

I did report the stores. But there is real choice for "fake discounts".
There is no extra field where I can explain why I am reporting???
And btw. those stores also advertise with "80% discount"

Just least favourite the store and make sure you turn on hide least favourite
stores. Then they will never bother you again. If they post in the forum about
fake discounts, then also use ignore feature in the forum settings.
No, Bricklink should investigate and close those illegal stores immediately.
But they don't take action, they are closing their eyes.

Whether it is legal or not is difficult to monitor though and it is not actually
them that decides whether something is against advertising standards. Here, stores
are allowed to claim a percentage off the recent sold price so long as there
is a fixed duration for the discount. They might have to prove that their original
price was reasonable and valid through sales records. This is why if you think
someone is falsely advertising a sales discount, it is best just to ignore them.
Otherwise, you'd have to file a formal complaint with the seller's national
advertising standards agency.
