Please make changes to the following inventory:

Set No: 8070  Name: Supercar
*
8070-1 (Inv) Supercar
1281 Parts, 2011
Sets: Technic: Model: Traffic

* Change {219 to 217} Part Black 2780 Technic, Pin with Short Friction Ridges
* Change {16 to 14} Part Red 32526 Technic, Liftarm, Modified Bent Thick L-Shape 3 x 5

Comments from Submitter:
I am submitting quantity changes for these two items:
Part 2780: Black Technic, Pin with Short Friction Ridges
Part 32526: Red Technic, Liftarm, Modified Bent Thick L-Shape 3 x 5
I recently bought an incomplete set and have been documenting the missing pieces to buy them separately. I have found that the parts list in the set instructions lists incorrect quantities for these two parts, and the inventory on BrickLink propagates these errors. The quantities posted are 219 for the pin and 16 for the liftarm.
I verified by going through each step of the instructions and counting part quantities used.

From this help page:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=1562

"Regular Items - Parts required to build the main model and any secondary
models plus any other parts on the official parts list. In the absence of an
official parts list, the official parts count, the instructions, and/or images
on the packaging are used to determine as closely as possible the contents of
this section. Refer to Additional Information About Regular Items for further
details."

This set has an official piece count of 1281 parts which the current BrickLink
inventory matches. Also, the inventory matches official LEGO data including the
two parts in question.

Some sets are known to have more regular pieces than are actually needed to build
the main model(s), and this may be the case here. Or it may be the case the the
set had a redesign at some point in which case we need to see a comparison of
the instructions explaining the different part counts.

At this point, we therefore unfortunately can't accept your change request.

/Jan

That's okay. I have since discovered that the two extra L-shape liftarms
are required to build the B-model from the online instructions. I'm fine
deferring to the official policy; thank you for the explanation.
