Could it be this bottom on the hub? Don't know, never tried Wedo... Just
an idea.

I believe the one without the holes has a battery box that takes x2 AA batteries
and the one with the holes is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery version. There
appears to be x2 different hub options listed on Bricklink with different part
numbers but the same photo one is WeDo 2.0 Smart Hub 45301-1 and the other is
White Electric Hub WeDo 2.0 19071c01. I see some sellers have a note saying it
is the version with no holes on front or the battery compartment is corrosion
free etc but it is confusing as to exactly which hub is the AA battery version.

Thanks, I messed up on my original post, 45301-1 is a set that contains part
19071c01. I did some more digging and I think it's possible the AA powered
version is an alternate in set 45300-1 WeDo 2.0 Core Set.

I base that reasoning on the fact that I have received the AA powered version
in a used lot that contains the same Lime Technic Bricks that are in 45300-1
WeDo 2.0 Core Set. The Lime Technic Bricks do not come in any other sets that
also have 19071c01.

I'll put in catalog requests to add part number 19071c02 as well as
add it as an alternate in set 45300-1. I'll also request to change name on
the 19071c01 to include lithium-ion battery.

Thanks to all for their input!
Julie

I have a feeling that it's just the official image for

In other words, I think the rechargeable lithium-ion battery version was only
available in these three sets

I agree.
I submitted a request to add 19071c02 as well as add "rechargeable lithium-ion
battery" to 19071c01. Or does 19071c01 need to be marked for deletion and
get a new number?

I don't know what to do about the inventory for 45300-1. Add AA version as
alternate?

Feel free to work your cat admin magic or let me know what changes to submit
and I'll do so.
Thanks!
Julie

Yeah looking at some online reviews and unboxing videos for the WeDo 2.0 Core
Set 45300 the AA battery hub came with that set as standard and the rechargeable
version would have been something you could buy separately if you wanted to add
a rechargeable battery box instead of the AA battery version. The inventory for
the set should show the AA battery hub not the rechargeable version.
