I recently sent a message to a buyer stating:

Hello and thank you very much for your order! I just wanted to make sure you
would like the Minifigures that has multiple bite marks. It was written on the
description but i wanted to make sure you know that.

Thanks,
AZ_Bricks_Central.

Was this ok to ask since I did not know if they read it or not, and I do not
want to leave a customer unsatisfied.

Thanks,

Thanks,

In General, you don’t need to reach out to the customer if there is a description
on the part. I’ve sold countless items that were damaged with the damage described
and only 1 time ever did a buyer message me wondering why it was damaged and
I pointed them to the items description and they were all fine with it

Alright well like I said I had already sent the message, but I wont in the future.
Thanks!

Thanks,

i'm just curious as to why you are selling chewed up mini-figures?
seems like more of a 'custom' item were pics would be required...
BL should have Quality Standards for regular listings

I buy Minifigures in bulk on websites to then sell on bricklink. Before listing
I of course very carefully check for cracks/marks. All of my new figures though
are from sets. One of the Minifigures from one of those lots had a chewed up
Minifigure so I listed it with that comment as other sellers do.

I also listed it at a very steep discount due to the bite mark on the helmet.

Many buyers truly don’t care so as long as it’s properly described in the listing
then it’s all good, usually “multiple bite marks” dosent quite equate to “chewed
up” as truly chewed up ones are usually thrown out but ones with just a few bite
marks will usually sell fine so long as it’s noted

Alright. I expect that the customer would just replace the helmet correct?

Some might, some just buy it for their kids or such who don’t care about the
damage and other may want a damaged one for a moc or such where damage is required
or it could be any one of countless reasons

OR because they couldn't afford a good condition one

Do the same as seller (not with chewed parts, but with misprints or other
anomalies). Communication prior to shipping is generally always a net positive,
as I've come to understand. And as a buyer, I also appreciate such seller
involvement with their transactions.

If they choose not to reply though, take that as where they may stand with the
whole e-commerce/comms thing, and ship without further delay. There are those
that enjoy the anonymity side of online shopping without the personal interactions.

But it's just how we roll, Matthew. I'm sure there are other valid schools
of thought on these types of seller-protocols. Listen to them all and develop
your own way

Alright thank you.
