Nubs! Don't miss this out. It is another type not related to sprues and it
happens less often than sprue thing:

I agree that it is not shown in any of the building steps, but it's sitting
there in the photo of the model that's on the front of the instructions.

Yes, it’s there to prevent the mast/crane from pivoting too freely.
Turntables are too loose.
