What is your sales experience since the introduction of the new interface ?
Curious to know to what extend your sales numbers went up/down.
For me sales have gone up but that may or may not be related to the Canada post
strike ending
Any public stats available ?
You can compare order numbers to see trends. I did some quick math which may
be incorrect so if possible I would like to have someone run it also which will
likely fix these numbers, but pre update there seemed to be roughly 9800 orders
a day on bricklink and post update it seems to be roughly 7600. However this
may be due to many factors beyond the website update such as it getting very
close to Christmas so people aren’t shopping online as much and the like

The strike totally messed up the stats so someone from the states will have to
check

I only do new/sealed sets. But I am doing at least 1 a day since the new interface.
But that is also what it has been for a couple of weeks.
Then again I am also a bad sample, because many things I sold were new and still
in retail but on backorders with lego. I just have a bad habit of when a new
set comes out I go and buy 2 or 3 of them like a pack rat.
To put that into perspective I have 12 gwp's of the picture frame. So I purchased
from the lego store/lego.ca 12 times in the last week.
I sold a number of Gringotts Banks, Zelda tree, various earlier BDP sets, jazz
clubs, and so forth......all were out of stock online and in stores. Only larger
items. The only small items a sold via BL was 3 record players and a ballerina
GWP.
Over all I think Nubs is also close to the truth, we are days from Xmas now I
think its meant to slow down. I wouldn't be surprised to see an increase
in orders immediately after xmas as many people being on holiday's and want
to do some legoing. I know I have a few sets for my family and to build.

Okay... I see a certain impact, but indeed, not sure if it is related to the
new interface. Time will tell.
The thing that worries me most is the fact that a second search field is now
above the storefront, and when one uses that searchfield, off he goes... I think
some changes are needed to keep people in a specific store. Especially for new
BL'ers, I think it's confusing.

Ok so in the last 10 days on Bricklink (since the post) I did 10 sales, which
involved 20+ sets for a gross of 5300 and some change. I did double that on others
platforms. But its also xmas.
So the question is does facebook marketplace and kijiji have better traffic than
bricklink? I don't do Ebay too expensive.
I am such a lego addict, I spent that and more on other lego products and the
first week of January 2025 I may be sent to lego rehab due to the amount of things
I intend purchasing.

Fb marketplace I think is more of a local thing that people look at, and Kijiji
is also more local oriented.

My sales are definitely down, but down is to be expected this part of the year.
I could compare to past years, but the circumstances in my store don't really
match either.
If sales don't pick up big time in the next couple weeks, it will be meaningful.
And Bricklink will see it.
that was what i recall the soft deadline, the hard is dec 31.. but correct me
if i am wrong.
I don’t know but the FAQ also says this (Q7):
“The deadline for all EU sellers to update their information is November 30,
2024. Members who fail to do this on time will have their stores closed and seller
privileges suspended for 6 months as required by the DAC7 regulations. If they
provide the required information within this time period, their seller privileges
and stores will be reinstated only after the initial 6 months are over.”
It’s not clear if BL gave themselves a month to ask for complements or corrections.

The text seems clear; deadline is Nov 30th, but stores will be closed... when
they'll start to close them, either automatically by batches or manually
with human confirmation, so that can take any time.

From the BL email from November 16th:
EU Digital Services Act (DSA)
As part of EU Digital Services Act (DSA) compliance, BrickLink is implementing
self-certification for all sellers. By February 16, 2025, our sellers would have
to certify that products that they are shipping to the EU are in compliance with
European Union law. Refer to the FAQ below and the DSA help page.
EU DAC7
All EU sellers who have reached or will reach the DAC7 threshold by the end of
2024, must submit additional documentation not later than December 30, 2024.

My store received 1-6 orders on most days in December through the 17th. Then
not a single order until the 23rd. I think it was just a coincidence due to the
time of year. Orders have picked up the last 5 days.
For now we do follow those stats: it'll probably be the worst December on
BrickLink
since 2019.
we cant forget the month isn't quite over yet, so long as in the next 2-3
days, bricklink gets roughly 10k-20k sales then it will be almost on par with
other recent years. for reference, bricklink currently averages about 8k sales/day

Sure, but it'll be less than 2023, and could be less than 2020. Which is
close to what we have here.
Plus shipping and packaging costs which have increased, taxes more systematically
collected (including new ones like Sales Taxes, AU - and UK for us in EU).
Which means for say a same yearly 'revenue' our margin have decreased.
Surely not the best year.

indeed, not the best, but also not horrendously bad

the canada post strike most likely also had a noticeable impact as Canada is
the second (I think?) largest market for bricklink country wise

we are now only about 1k orders behind 2020 and since the year isn't over
we will likely surpass that which means this December will only be second to
last years December by about 10k sales (will probably have 4k more by today's
end) and I'm pretty confident the Canada Post strike probably costed bricklink
10k+ sales meaning that this year has pretty solid sales even with the update

I really don't know where you got Canada would be the second market; EU is
about the same number of members as the USA, and Canada is about 1/7 of it, and
Germany already almost the double of Canada...

Yep, this 4K *could* correspond to Can strike effect.
I don't believe the interface change had/has a *significant* negative (or
even positive) impact.
As an example, in december maybe half of my buyers (including bigest orders)
are newbies with 0 FB - they've probably no idea how it was before.
I'm still worried about less predictable years than before; if we ignore
2019 and 2020 (oof!) simply see nov 2023 - what happened?
All in all, we here finally had a (bit) better year on BrickLink than 2023 -
I was a bit pessimistic - yay!
