They were sorted when you started. Why make me sort them all again?
I will combine smaller lots when they're easy to separate but this is just...
I have no words.
Some sellers do, LEGO also does it. But is common use on BL that sellers do some
sort of organizing in baggies. If they don't I think they should say so in
their store terms.
* Price of parts decreases every day (now some brand New on BrickLink are sold
below the cent, and for no specific minimum/bulk quantity)
* Work cost has exploded everywhere because prices inflation on everything, including:
power, internet, heat, insurance, gas (to go ship), packaging and so on...
* We're incentivized to reduce single use plastics, like reducing zip bags
number - and alternative such as paper based pose problems (how to close them?),
aren't transparent, heavier (more fuel to transport), and cost 10x more...
In short, those above could be the reasons I can see.

These are not good reasons as it takes no extra time to give LOTS with larger
quantities their own bag (Small quantities mixed no problem)
Grip seal bags cost very little at all and when it comes to environmental issues
its not about how many bags you use but how smart you use them. One oversized
bag with air space uses more plastic waste than 10-20 smaller bags fully filled
with Lego and little to no air space.
A lot of sellers seem to skip bothering with smaller sized bags and have a one
size bag for all orders no matter whether 10 parts go in that bag or 200 parts!

One single bag is not common IMHO.
However, the price of packaging material is increasing rapidly. So to put every
single brick in a seperate ziplock bag becomes more and more unrealistic. Not
to mention the waste it creates.
We put most items in seperate bags, but when there's a lot of "one of
this and one of this", we put them together.

Grip seal bags are actually super cheap however putting every individual part
in its own bag is almost as unhelpful as bundling them together so your doing
no wrong there and I feel its a balance between knowing when to give large enough
quantities their own bags and knowing when its okay to mix a few smaller quantities
together
I also try to give consideration to keeping parts of the same/similar colour
separate as well as avoiding packing items together that can be annoying for
customer to deal with, for instance Heads and headgear never go well together
in the same bag
I've received orders like that a few times over the years, and I always put
the seller on my Least Favorite list.
David
Is PAB on your Least Favorite list now?
LOL! I suppose they should be.
LEGO lets people rate sets on their website, and those ratings are publicly viewable.
That would be interesting if they had a feedback system for online P.A.B. service.
If they had an option where you could buy bags, like at Aldi, and they would
use them to pack your order, I would probably do it.

If I could buy Lego shopping bags like Aldi sells, I'd be carrying those
around like Gucci purses.

Are more sellers doing it? Or did you just get one?
I'm a regular buyer and it it definitely seems to be more frequent. Maybe
20% of the orders? The worst sin is when they mix new/used. The cardinal sin
is when I ordered the same part new and used and they're jumbled together.
I would have had that in at a minimum 30 bags. I go through tons of the little
baggies in all kinds of sizes. It's probably overkill on my part, but I
would rather do that than what you described. Now, would my life be that much
easier shipping it like that?, yes it would. Would I have more free time on
my hands?, absolutely. Hopefully this is doesn't become the norm.

Both ends of the extreme are obnoxious. I bought a lot off eBay a few months
ago with dozens of different parts in small quantities, and every single element
was bagged separately. This sounds like a good thing, but it probably took me
half an hour to unbag them all to put in a tub to wash them. (I wash all used
parts before they enter my collection.)
I usually prefer to see some level of consolidation, but obviously not if it's
something like four different types of 1x1 tiles or something.

Like the others mentioned, both ends of the scale are a bit extreme. I’ve found
a solid balance is about 1/2-3/4 of a party cup gets a large bag and and lot
that has a qty of (roughly) 25-30+ gets its own bag and after almost 7k orders
between bricklink and brickowl people seem to like it

Yeah, but do they complain about the pizza scented Lego they receive and what
about the peperoni finger prints on the sides of bricks and on tile tops, especially
the larger 2x4 tiles.
