Recently there have been posts with spam links at 11:00PM CDT (midnight EST)
that stay up for hours, I feel like this could be fixed if new users could not
post links or images in the forum until the above criteria is met (I would honestly
be fine with it being more than 1 net positive review). I think they should
still be able to post (Especially since they cannot message sellers to request
shipping quotes) but I don't know how hard this would be to implement for
the Bricklink team.

This is an excellent idea, but Bricklink won't do it because the Bricklink
team likes the spam messages.

Yes but sorry no. Organized hackers could easily bypass this protection.
One way would be (for relatively young accounts) the server to analyze the links,
and edit/remove them (or simply not validate the whole post) if there's a
link to a different domain than a few authorized for example Rebrickable, BrickLink,
few LEGO galeries, etc. And/or some bayesian filter.

Golly gee, shucks... wonder where I might've heard such being suggested before

We have talked about this and we could easily do it. However, the feedback we
have received about this issue indicates that most of our users would rather
deal with the spam than curtail the posting privileges of every new member.
For this same reason we will soon be removing the temporary restrictions put
in place to mitigate the recent phishing issue.

Can confirm. I’d be happy to see a few spam posts if it means new users can ask
questions (tho I’m not against setting some restrictions to the messages such
as no more then X amount of links or only linking certain website and if not
on the list then the message having to be approved before posting, etc.)

What percentage of "every new member" that come to the forum, whether
for help or otherwise, utilizes acceptable active links? Wonder if that's
even been considered? Can't imagine "most of our users" caring enough
to voice their opinion about such anyway. Oh well...

You cannot really stop anyone posting links. You can make the links unclickable,
but links are just text and would still be posted.
I really doubt they currently get many clicks anyway as surely most sensible
people know not to click on (clickable) links where the subject is gummies or
enlargement pills or from a Nigerian prince. The spammers would continue to post
their adverts with or without the clickable links.

Every kind of report can be submitted from the Problem Center, linked at the
bottom of nearly every page on the site.
