Hello,

In the past month I've tried to source one 4180c05, which is the vintage
large train wheel (red). It is a rare and pricey part.

Both the first and second time I ordered it, from two different sellers, I received
a 4180c04 instead. Also vintage, but the normal size (red) and much, much cheaper.
In both cases the seller acknowledged their error and refunded me fortunately.

The third time I finally got the right part.

This makes me wonder if the photo of 4180c05 might need updating. The current
photo does not show the size all too clearly because of the angle, and might
make it look a little like the smaller c04.

Is a better image available? Feel free to use this photo I took just now if it
is good enough:

A removed background can be a big help also

You accidentally took out a bit of the wheel rim where it has the black brick
as background, creating a white halo there.

Then use what I offered: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1496774
Background removal can be problematic.

Having the "freestyle pin" in the name might help too

IIUC, the comparison is between the small red wheel and the big black wheel(s),
not between the two black ones.

Ah, then color's very different, I agree!

Seriously, then I don't understand: as between 4180c05 and 4180c04 there's
only a 6mm diameter difference, which isn't what shows the proposed comparaison
picture

Anyway, I know few about those, so I can't tell anyway.

Same for me… but since when our not knowing about something would make us stop

It's simple, there would be no forum in this case.

Cheers,

Ole

Interesting case, comparison pic would definitely help! I immediately went to
check my stock, and fortunately found no mistake there, but this kind of mix-ups
happens very easily when you're cataloging large batches of Lego.

Just a suggestion to buyers in general: If you see a rare, expensive part in
a shop, that has a similar-looking cheap part, for an incredibly cheap price,
I for one would be very happy if you wrote a message before ordering, to check
if there maybe is something wrong! I think hardly anyone on Bricklink will actively
try to cheat buyers, but mistakes happen (have happened to me before - big thanks
to my friendly and understanding buyers out there), and with shipping costs these
days they can get expensive mistakes rather quickly.
Cheers,
Patrick
