Hi. I'm parting out 8353 Slammer Rhino and the BL catalog shows a quantity
of 4 for parts x88 and x264 but the instructions show a quantity of 1 for part
x264 and 2 for part x88. I just wanted to bring it to someones attention to maybe
take a look and see if I'm confused

Thanks!

All of the rubber bands were considered part of the set according to the official
part count. By definition on BrickLink, they are all part of the inventory:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=1562

"Regular Items - Parts required to build the main model and any secondary
models plus any other parts on the official parts list. In the absence of
an official parts list, the official parts count, the instructions, and/or images
on the packaging are used to determine as closely as possible the contents of
this section.
Refer to Additional Information About Regular Items for further
details."

Emphasis mine.

Cheers,
Randy

Thanks Randy! I didn't see any of the bands used in the secondary model,
per the instructions, but I also understand that there are things that I may
not see. Thanks again for the response and have a great rest of your weekend!

During this era LEGO usually included twice as many rubber bands than what is
necessary for the models. I haven't looked into this particular set, but
I'd suspect that's the case here too.

For sets like this one and others that included either

Part No: 41752  Name: Rubber Band / Belt Holder 2 x 4 x 2 1/3
*
41752 Rubber Band / Belt Holder 2 x 4 x 2 1/3
Parts: Rubber Band & Belt

or

Part No: 41753  Name: Rubber Band / Belt Holder 2 x 6 x 2 1/3
*
41753 Rubber Band / Belt Holder 2 x 6 x 2 1/3
Parts: Rubber Band & Belt
they almost always came in multiples of four.

Cheers,
Randy
