I believe this could help with all the new accounts that are creating spam links
on their about me pages.
Solid idea! In realistic use cases, buyers don’t usually use that as soon as
they join the site so that could make sense. And then if that is stopped then
they might see bricklink as a less “valuable” target and move elsewhere

Do people read the about me pages of other users, especially those that have
no feedback and don't buy or sell? I occasionally click on a about me page
if buying from a seller that has one (but very rarely). I don't think I've
ever felt the need to click on one from a user that only registers to spam the
forum.
