FYI: you cannot offer items for sale outside of your own store on this platform.
So if you want to sell items on Bricklink you'll need to set up a store.

Much more; it's a shame to try to sell their (wonderful) work even "interpreted"!

No - this is called Copyright Infringement - it's also valid in Italy.

  don't understand

Let me explain it: they work to create and you get the money.

It's not what you said, but the post has been cancelled.

You said it was an interpretation of their MOC.

Either:

* you resell their unique MOC you bought, exactly as it is in their instructions
- so you're selling a Used MOC you bought, that's fine.

* or you're selling an "interpretated" version of the famous and
talented Arvo Brothers and then it's a Copyright Infringement.

Otherwise, simply sell the parts and there's no problem especially citing
"Arvo Brothers"

OP (correctly) said the MOC is an interpretation of the Alien movie, not that
they interpreted the MOC.

The issue (beside trying to sell on the forum) is that they don’t sell (don’t
have?) the book, only a copy of it.

Ah OK, very sorry about this.

Was a bit upset, love Arvos' work and have talked to them often some time
ago.
I over reacted, apologizes.

yes you can sell the parts that are in the moc as 1 package but you cannot sell
copies of the instructions since you do not own the intelectual property to be
allowed to make copies and sell them (unless you have the actual permission from
the original owners to do so).

just because you bought the instructions from the original owners, it doesnt
give you the right to make copies of those instructions to sell for a profit.
its like saying everyone can make copies of dvd's, video games, books, etc
and sell them for a profit because they bought it....

Precision: They aren’t trying to sell the book, they are trying to sell a copy

Oh, thanks.  I didn’t know “precision” was a false friend / that English didn’t
have the “details / clarification” meaning 😅

Apparently, the word was “borrowed” before that meaning was added in French.

Oh, thanks.  I didn’t know “precision” was a false friend / that English didn’t
have the “details / clarification” meaning 😅

Apparently, the word was “borrowed” before that meaning was added in French.

All good I think it’s just the specialty spelling of that word that dosnt
apply the same in all situations.

“Specialty spelling”? 🤔

I’m not an English teacher so that’s probably not the right wording but what
I had meant is for example “that drill bit is a precision bit” is very fine but
“precision, your correct” is not

Yes, in English, “precision,” as a name, only means “the state of being
exact or accurate” (or the number of significant digits in math, or some obscure
bridge term).  And it can also be used as an adjective: “precision drill bit.”

In French, the name can also mean “details, supplementary information for clarification.”
And it can’t be used as an adjective, “precision drill bit” = “foret de
précision.”

So, “Précision:” = “Clarification:”/“Some more info:”.

(But I’m seeing “Precision:” used in English too… must be from French people
or that meaning is eventually being “borrowed” too )

Typically, in English, we would use the adverb phrase "More precisely,..."

Noted

About the same as they speak French in Quebec.

its like saying everyone can make copies of dvd's, video games, books, etc

The instructions are a hardback book, so they are allowed to sell the book to
someone else but not make copies and sell those.

Precision: They aren’t trying to sell the book, they are trying to sell a copy
of the book.  Only one but still a copy.

Sometimes it is not clear. I have a copy of the book but it is not a copy. It
is an original copy of the book.

It was clear in the original message (that I can still read, which is why I re-added
the info): “COPY of the original instruction (NOT THE ORIGINAL ONE) […] offset
printing” (their emph.).

Once again, French is better: we don’t say “copie” for “edition of a book,” we
say “exemplaire” (sample), so “copie” (almost) always means “bootleg.”

(Just banter.  English is better in other cases.  And sometimes it’s Spanish,
German….)
