How do you all deal with old inventory that’s not selling? I’ve slowly been working
through to put my older stuff on sale, but this is pretty time consuming and
I was wondering if anyone has any other strategies they would like to share.

The great part about those is that you don't have to do anything with them.
The time sink is dealing with the ones that ARE selling.

If you have reduced and it is still not selling, maybe check the price per pound
ratio and if it drops below $6 per pound then ...

I wouldn't. If you're going to give gifts, it is better to give something
that might be used based on what they ordered rather than adding junk that doesn't
sell.
If they've ordered lots of City figures, some police minifigs might be appreciated.
If they've ordered a lot of Technic, a bag of pins and connectors might
be appreciated. But not the other way around.

I don't even know how to make this calculus work. I occasionally get a little
bag of pieces in an order and I lay it on my desk. I don't know if they
are new or used. I ordered the pieces I wanted. I didn't want the rest
of the things they had, but here they are. *shrug. Maybe it makes a better impression
on a different kind of user than me.
