How long is it reasonable to wait? From 'paid' to 'sent'? 4 days?
More? I paid on the 2nd of September and nothing has changed on my order since.
When is 'too long' to wait?

When is 'too long' to wait?

does the store's terms state anything in specific for shipping times? if
not in general most are shipped from stores in sub 3 days but on occasion it
can take 1-2 weeks as for many sellers this is a part-time hobby and they only
ship once a week or such

The store said: "I send Tuesdays and Fridays." - and that is all right
- I ordered Monday - Tuesday would have been too early to be ready to send and
then I sort of expected it to be sent Friday. I have written to seller but got
no answer.

Very hard to say, I’ve received orders when the status still reads “paid”.

Not everyone updates status quickly.

When is 'too long' to wait?

Reach out and ask the seller. I’ve had great products sent in minutes (almost)
and also sent in a week.
This is not Amazon and every seller is different, so talking is good

If the order came from the USA we just had a major Holiday. Be patient

I never order from the USA. The custom fees are 'k*lling' people from
EU . It has been ordered from Germany. I do not expect it to arrive that fast
- just to be sent. It says 'I send Tuesdays and Fridays' - and that is
fine. I ordered on Monday. Tuesday would have been to early to send, so I was
sort of expecting it to be sent Friday. I asked seller - politely - if it would
be sent today. But got no answer.

When is 'too long' to wait?

Both Canada and America just had a long weekend. I would give him a few more
days before outing him.

From Paid to sent.....I just did a transaction last week for a few hundred and
received it a couple of days later without notification and yet my order page
says "packed". I just had to email the guy and have him change it to
"complete".

I had another guy with the same issue from May 2024 and I had to email him to
clear that to complete also for 1200.00.

I guess the moral of the story is dont be the victim of your own anxious thoughts
and give him a few more days.

In a few days......hunt him down and run him over with your car

pro tip just file the order to remove it from your list as asking buyer to mark
an order as complete can easily irritate some buyers leading to negative feedback
as its a fully optional part of orders

Appreciate that for future options.

Most of my sellers I am a repeat customer with several Orders. So we don't
get irritated with each other.I prefer to deal with sellers/buyers in a friendly
way always.

Many seller don't read those messages here.
They have it forward to there mail account = you don't know if they have
read it or not.
You should not start to worry about it until day 7.

Have a nice day.

Four or five days is reasonable, if the seller hasn't communicated anything
about any problems.

If it were me, I'd give it 5 days, and if no contact, or action from the
seller, I'd file an NSS to wake the seller up.

It is 5 days today - and the seller hasn't read my message yet. I'll
give it to this afternoon and then I'd file a NSS - I would just like to
know what a reasonable time before reacting would be. Thanks.

5 days is reasonable but you don't mention how big the order is. Again, Monday
was a Federal holiday in the US so maybe give it until Monday Sept 9th at the
lastest, then file. You can also open a case with Paypal if you paid with this
for non delivery and no shipping. Hopefully this is a seasoned seller and not
a newbie who doesn't respond to messages.

Again, Monday was a Federal holiday in the US

That is, again, totally irrelevant as OP said multiple times the seller is in
Germany

must have missed that - not appreciating being told "totally irrelevant".

Here:
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1485119
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1485158

And the buyer is in Denmark, so they have lower chances to have bought from out
of EU.

But…

not appreciating being told "totally irrelevant".

Sorry, no offence meant.  I was just pointing at this specific “Labor Day” argument,
not the rest of your post and certainly not you.

Maybe I read too many posts: there’s always repetitions of questions/arguments
already answered.  That’s understandable when posted before or around the same
time as the answer.  It’s a bit irksome one or two days later.

How long is it reasonable to wait? From 'paid' to 'sent'? 4 days?
More? I paid on the 2nd of September and nothing has changed on my order since.
When is 'too long' to wait?

Four or five days is reasonable, if the seller hasn't communicated anything
about any problems.

If it were me, I'd give it 5 days, and if no contact, or action from the
seller, I'd file an NSS to wake the seller up.

It is 5 days today - and the seller hasn't read my message yet. I'll
give it to this afternoon and then I'd file a NSS - I would just like to
know what a reasonable time before reacting would be. Thanks.

I think 5 days is a reasonable amount of time if that seller has not even given
you the respect of answering an email. NSS 100%.

If he had of communicated with you about a delay I would not take the same view
and suggest you wait a little longer.

In any event you can remove an implemented NSS if you have made a mistake. But
ultimately to ignore you is not respectful.

It’s rare but perhaps the seller fell I’ll or had something come up that is causing
the delay. Many of us sellers are a one person operation and if things happen
delays can occur unexpectedly. Do they have a lot of good feedback? Perhaps
there are other causes and filing a NSS so quick may get them irritated even
if you think it may be justified.

I’d try another message to the, outside Bricklink to see if they get it.
