I have a few tiles that are de-bossed, they come in various sizes and colors.
I have found on BL site a part Tile 1 x 4 with AI-xxxxxxxx Pattern part # 2431pb342
but not the actual piece, How do you list the actual piece so a buyer knows what
they are buying. The piece I've in hand is A1-YM6YYRR6, how does a buyer
know he is getting the piece he wants?

They were codes to be used in the LEGO Movie Game. I think all the codes unlocked
the same game feature, so it doesn't really matter which one the buyer gets.

Hi,

This part, like others like that in other categories (Bionicle, Exo-Force, for
example) has a random code. So if you want to put it on your store, you can write
the real code in the description.

[P=2431pb429,1]

Part No: 3069pb0078  Name: Tile 1 x 2 with 'XFxxxxxx' Exo-Code Pattern
*
3069pb0078 Tile 1 x 2 with 'XFxxxxxx' Exo-Code Pattern
Parts: Tile, Decorated {Yellow}

Hope that helps

Personally I wouldn’t do that, as some people buy them for the code, but if you
tell them what it is than they can just use the code without buying the item.

I agree, but based on how the item came to be listed on BL, that specific code
may have already been used previously. This is beginning to feel like the QR-code
issue.

Indeed but it brings up the question on if they were 1 time use only codes or
not. Personally I doubt they can only be used once so they should be good for
whoever wants it

I would think so too, but remember each code is set exclusive. It wouldn’t make
much sense if ‘Johnny’ buys the set for the code in the game, then ‘Kilroy’ and
‘Pippin’ come over and use the same code for their games too. Making two less
of that set sold since they didn’t need it.

They might have been going for the “illusion” of it being unique to get the buyer
more excited as the internet (at least to the best of my understanding) wasn’t
as common of a thing back then so this way they would have opened the set and
thought they got a cool code that’s unique. But as it’s probably for an offline
game a don’t think they could even enforce it being used multiple times on different
copies

Good point, I can’t think of any online games other than 2k drive.
So ya, could be🤔

Not to mention that most of these parts with codes are wayyyyyyyy past usefulness.
Good luck trying to find something useful to do with them.

I was assembling a Scary Laboratory, and bought the SoundFX CD-ROM for completeness.
With an XP VM I was able to get it to load… but that was about all it can do.
Those were the days!
