In a past thread, someone gave an explanation of why this happens. I don't
recall the details, but something to do with the buyer making changes somewhere
in the order process. Nothing the seller can do to prevent it. It seems to
happen to me about once every 100 orders where every single item in that order
will end up with 0 quantity and be in the stockroom (assuming they bought out
the whole lot). I don't recall what happens if they don't buy the whole
lot, but I think it behaves correctly. I haven't noticed it ever clear on
its own, but whenever I check, I go ahead and delete the entries from the stockroom
manually.
This is annoying, but at least it's better than how it used to behave. About
3 years ago, it would just not deduct what was purchased from your inventory,
so I would occasionally have people order items that had already sold. I'd
find that earlier order, and sure enough, every item from that order was off
on its quantity.

BL seems to be retaining everything I sell that have sold-out of
into my stockroom (even if that part is not marked to be retained).
