Hi everyone,
I don’t post much here anymore, but thought this might be of interest for the
BrickLink crowd.
Recently I found a pretty unique brick, most likely a prototype for our modern
bricks.
It was put in for patent in 1958 with the tubes bricks.
Later used for Minitalia bricks and oLo.
More info on my Flickr page:

Enjoy,
Maxx
P.s. in white my found brick, in red the LEGO patent bricks in Billund.

First one I ever heard of, haven’t seen one before, but maybe now people start
looking…..
And it being a number 10, there might be 9 more out there 😁

I assumed it would be, I just thought it was funny that the underside says XXX.

All those red ones connected to the original spurs - having them that way is
just SO COOL!! I have never seen them that way. The brick on the right side with
10 pins on the bottom is also really cool.
Out of curiosity and if you don't mind me asking, how much do you think all
of them connected like that is possibly worth?
Jim.

The reds connected to the sprue are any collectors wet dream.
Money wise………..I personally would drop a few G’s, possibly a few extra K’s 😁
Seriously, no clue, if I could buy that sprue, easy 10K.

Probably a coincidence but it you start counting top right of your photo of sprued
bricks, continue down then up from the bottom you get position 10 just like your
brick.

Very interesting. It looks like it is missing the wall ribs that the Billund
one seems to have.

Yes, my current hypothesis is that it is the prototype for the patent bricks.
But an older version, before the thin walls, which curiously weren’t used for
a long time until finally in Minitalia along with the X supports…

Thank you, also pretty rare if I can show it is from the 1958 era tests.
