I was paid for an order this morning but bricklink doesn't show an order
was placed. Has this happened to anyone else before?

Maybe the buyer has a cart but didn't actually place the order?

No idea. I have a payment through paypal, bricklink fee was deducted, but no
order shows in bricklink. Never had anything like this happen before.

You mean it says “Partner fee”?  That would the taxes, not BL’s 3% fee.

I think there’s been a couple threads about this but it’s generally someone who
paid Offsite.  And that doesn’t seem to be your case if the tax/“Partner fee”
is included.

But if the partner fee/sales tax was taken out and not merely the PP fee then
I doubt this is what happened.

Yes, once, 6 months ago maybe?

One buyer placed the order, he paid online and we received the payment on PayPal
showing a regular BrickLink on site payment, but ZERO order corresponding.

We talked with the buyer and confirmed everything on his side and ours.

To solve the problem I asked him to place the same order, chosing "Invoice
me manually", I credited he whole amount, made a zero € invoice, sent it
and marked it paid.
