I think it's a year or two or three (or longer) that I see this message in
the set-up of a wanted list:
Share Wanted List - Feature coming soon!
On the other hand who would need this feature while you can send the XML or studio
file to friends, or post your MOC on rebrickable and other places.
I guess they had this idea and then realized it's not worth developping it,
hence the "soon"?
I think you make a good point with this. I actually don't know why I would
want to share a wanted list, ha ha. Maybe only for sets that are not officially
available on BL, such as the sets from the Bricklink Designer Program.
Nevertheless, if you promise a feature, you should deliver on it or see it and
adjust the software accordingly.
If you are selling a set with missing pieces and a buyer wants to know what pieces
are missing, you could share a wanted list of the missing pieces. The buyer could
then easily see how much it would cost to replace the missing pieces.

Nothing you couldn't upload on a free dropbox account.
But sure that could be an extra feature, but for what cost and real usage?

The problem is that not everyone is so tech savvy.
It is easier to just click a button that says "Share" than to download
it as a file, upload the file as an email attachment, download the file again,
and then reupload it to BrickLink.
I sell PDF instructions in my store. I've had to explain to many buyers how
to upload the XML file to their wanted list so they can order the parts. Some
don't even know what the XML file is for.
There are instances where it would be convenient to be able to share a wanted
list with another member:
But, knowing BrickLink, they may feel that the effort required to develop the
new feature is simply not worth it, even if it would be useful.
Even the effort required to remove the "Coming Soon" text seems too much.
For MOCs, Rebrickable and the Studio Gallery make sharing easier, but that doesn't
work if you just have a list of parts and not a MOC or if your Studio Gallery
listing contains the word "LEGO".
So I wonder: what is 'soon' in the perception of Bricklink?
Russell told me they'd fix something "next week" and we're now
3 years and counting 3 years of browsing set inventories that have their parts
listed in totally random order within each category, rather than by the dimensions
of the parts.

Russell is far more diplomatic than I would be with some of the members around
here.
