I don’t even know what to think.
This is the next Lego movie….to ‘em 5 years to make…
The movie? I didn't know they were making one. I want that minifig though
the figure does look cool. out of curiosity what movie is it for tho
I’m still trying to figure it out.?
From what I’ve heard it’s, and I quote, “ Piece by Piece is an upcoming American
animated biographical musical drama film directed by Morgan Neville.” ???
Biggest waste of money by TLG yet…
Really I was hoping for a LEGO movie style thing, that advertises LEGO, not some
random guy I’ve never heard of..
No… never. What’s it about? (Just in case that the 1 billion views came from
people trying to figure that out. )
its a classic song that is from when I was a kid. pretty much everyone my age
who used a radio when they were a kid heard this song extensively
Hmmm….. never heard of it..
Is it any good?
that's what the link above is for so you can decide for yourself
May watch it later, what style is it? If it’s rap I don’t want to hear it… not
my style.
its only 4 min . dont worry its not rap just early 2000's "pop"
(or at least i think tho tbh I couldn't tell you for sure)
Ok, still don’t think I want to spend money on the sets though. 🤨
but I'm sure many will plus if it has a great partout ill buy lots
I don’t know if it’s my attitude right now but I kinda hope the movie doesn’t
become a blockbuster. Just enough to be a average movie that makes money.

No really, I like you videos, which one do you recommend for a new comer to the
channel?
glad to hear! for as 1 to recommend I dont know if I've got any specific
1 id recommend but I guess maybe sorting by views might be a good indicator

I'm not sure if you are being facetious or not, but Pharrell's song Happy
is very much in the same style as Walking On Sunshine which is in the opening
of the video you posted the link to.

Just because the artist is black doesn't mean the song is rap music. This
is a pretty disgusting stereotype and really has no place in polite society.
If you took a moment to research him, you would see that he has had a large influence
on modern music and is arguably one of Gen X's most talented producers. On
top of all of that he is returning a great deal to society through philanthropy
and working to help those in need.
One of the things that I love about LEGO is how it transcends age, socioeconomics,
religion, personality type, politics, race, etc and brings us all together in
1 huge creative umbrella. Any time you can reach another group and bring them
into that umbrella is a win for us all. I think this is actually a brilliant
move on TLG's part.
Just an FYI on a guy you've never heard of:
Williams has stretched his influence between music and fashion, but one of the
most important facets of his career has been his philanthropy work. Bettering
the world around him for the future generation has been one of his greatest accomplishments.
He launched the nonprofit From One Hand to AnOTHER inc. to promote a positive
education for underprivileged students. He then went on to launch his nonprofit
organization YELLOW to create a better learning environment for young students
in his home base of Norfolk, Virginia. The school features small classrooms and
intuitive technology that allow underprivileged children to get an education
in STEM and the arts. He also poured $35 million into the Pharrell Williams Resource
Center in Virginia Beach for low-income students to stay after school.
His efforts to end generational poverty are endless and forever changing lives.
No matter how successful he became, he never forgot his roots in Virginia Beach
and is always looking for more ways to better the community for little kids who
are just like himself 30 years ago. He spoke in front of thousands for the International
Day of Happiness for the United Nations. “You should know that happiness is your
birthright,” Williams said.

Pharrell is a Rapper..
even Wikipedia describes him as such.
" Pharrell Lanscilo Williams (/fəˈrɛl/; born April 5, 1973), sometimes known
mononymously as Pharrell, is an American record producer, songwriter, rapper,
and singer."
he's not described as a 'Pop' star, a Country Music Star, a Rock
'n Roll Star..
he is a Rap Star.
the guy ASKED if the song mentioned 'Happy' which was released by a Rap
Star was a Rap Song.
your multi-paragraph rant about 'stereotypes' & border-line accusing
this guy of Racism is based off the guy wanting to know if the song a rap star
released is Rap...
what exactly is the 'generalized belief about a particular group of people'
we should have about a rap stars if we cannot ask if a song they release is Rap...?
{oh hey 2024.. just the same 'ol same going on.. }
+1 thank you, just because I don’t like rap doesn’t mean I hate someone.

Really? Did not now that, the song was just the first on that I thought of when
nubs said radio.

What?! Also was not what I was thinking, rap can be made by anyone, I just don’t
want to watch a rap video if I don’t have to.

Hmmm…. Interesting, I will do more research on him.

There is nothing Nubs loves more than making me feel old.
You guys in the US are so lucky to have so many radio station
Up here we only have CBC "Communist Broadcasting Company"
And the and the guy who ran the local station died last year, so besides the
6 day long iTunes play list, I'm the only one doing a show.

that more of a location thing then a canada thing

Probably, I can sometimes pull in the AM from the states on a clear night, but
even than it's spotty
I have heard the song. Can't remember having heard the guy's name before.
I might enjoy their work, but am generally not interested in the artists themselves.
So... I like LEGO and don't care about this person.
Why would I go see this movie?

That’s the logic most people used when it came out, plus the marketing was the
standard TLG style.
I don’t even know what to think.
This is the next Lego movie….to ‘em 5 years to make…
Looks Happy
Pharrell Williams‘ life will be told via Legos in the new Focus Features movie
Piece by Piece, directed by 20 Feet from Stardom Oscar winner Morgan Neville.
The pic will hit theaters on Oct. 11.
The 13-time Grammy winner and double Oscar nominee posted about it on social
today, saying: “Who would’ve thought that playing with Legos as a kid would evolve
into a movie about my life. It’s proof that anyone else can do it too… #PieceByPiece.”
I guess Deadline did not read the style guide on Legos...
but whoever posted the item on X did read the style guide

I guess the guy deserves a movie, but the LEGO treatment is not for someone who
says “legos”
Quote from LEGO
Proper Use of the LEGO Trademark on a Web Site
If the LEGO trademark is used at all, it should always be used as an adjective,
not as a noun. For example, say “MODELS BUILT OF LEGO BRICKS”. Never say “MODELS
BUILT OF LEGOs”.

Yeah, that looks terrible - I'm surprised Lego allowed Snoop Dogg to be associated
given what his entire personality is based off of
It's a neat concept, but the visuals look downgraded compared to TLM 1 &
2, it was pretty hard to tell those were CGI, but with this one it's quite
obvious (mostly due to the minifigures looking less detailed than the builds
around them)
I can't remember the last time I went to see a movie in theaters, and this
definitely won't be one I'll be breaking the streak for

I noted at least 2 cardinal rules that where broken, one there seems
to be some kind of religious content, (not against it but rule broken) and the
one guy said the H word.

For sure, the one guy's hair/head is awful. The lack of detail and care that
was put in the animation is terrible.

I can think of a lot of other things that are a bigger waste of money than a
movie that is actually good.
PG, with swearing?
Rated PG: Parental guidance suggested – Some material may not be suitable
for children.
That includes mild swearing.
The S word?
You call that mild?
For a 5-year-old? Probably not. But a PG rating isn't for 5-year-olds.
For a 10-year-old? Yes. Common Sense Media gave it a 9+ rating, so that is well
within the PG rating.
Shows how the standards have fallen over time
I can't quite peg why you have such a vendetta against this movie.
I don't, I'm just questioning the content, I knew from the start that
this would happen, but if you think swearing at your kids is fine because they
are over 9 that's your problem.
Ohh how we have dropped the bar, 60 years ago even older kids wouldn't have
been able to watch this
In other words, don't let your little kids watch it if you are worried about
things like that.
I don’t even know what to think.
This is the next Lego movie….to ‘em 5 years to make…
Don't think of it as a weird sequel to The LEGO Movie. This isn't really
a movie for LEGO fans. Think of it as a movie like "Bohemian Rhapsody"
or "Elvis", but Pharrell asked if it could be LEGO animated because he
thought that would be cool and fun. It really just wasn't made for you at
all. It is made for people who are curious to know more about Pharrell's
life.

Has it made the rounds yet or is it still not fully distributed?
we all know the "budgets" for movies are often not accurate for tax reasons
so even if the return is significantly less then the budget, it is still usually
very profitable.
