So, back in November, I placed an order with a seller that has good reviews.
I paid the invoice and, it took him about two weeks but, he supposedly shipped
the order about three weeks ago. After two weeks, the package had not arrived.
I messaged him asking if there was an issue and if he had a USPS number for the
package. He responded that he would check with the post office that day.

A couple of days passed with no update, so I sent him an email requesting an
update. No response. Two more days passed and I sent another message. Still no
response. I sent another, high priority message and later another email and still,
no response.

So, it has been over a week since he said he would check, and I have no updates.
He never provided a tracking number or any other information for contacting the
post office to see if it has been lost. The package has never arrived (we have
a door camera so we would know if it was stolen). At this point, the only reason
I have to believe that he has even shipped the package is that he updated the
status of the order to “shipped.”

What would be the correct course of action at this point?

if it was international that could be a normal time frame but if it’s in the
USA it’s starting to push it even given the holiday season. I’d first file an
nss and if nothing happens then a PayPal claim

I'm not speaking for your seller.

But what I will tell you is that I have a buyer in Florida. They bought a single
figure hairpiece. I live on the south end of New Jersey and my mail funnels through
Philadelphia. The package went through their sorting facility and then there
was radio silence until I filed a "search for my stuff" request through
USPS. Suddenly, for whatever reason, they found the package in Queens, New York
- the opposite direction. And very suddenly its now "on its way." So,
I wish you luck, but USPS is wild right now. I've had other mailing issues,
but none of them related to your story.

Sorry. This order was also placed in November. That's the connection.

Thanks. If I don't get a response back, I'll try working with USPS. I
just don't have a tracking number, so that makes it harder. I filed an NSS
so maybe that will work.

Not that this would help your exact situation but sign up for informed delivery
with the usps, it is free. You'll get a daily email of packages on the way
to you as well as scans of all the letter mail (i.e. junk, coupons, and bills)
arriving that day.

That only works if the seller provides a tracking number. I don't understand
why some sellers are incapable of uploading tracking numbers to the order when
they mark it shipped. I do it all the time the space BL provides .

Informed delivery has nothing to do with Bricklink, any packages on their way
to your location you will get tracking for through the post office.

It shows me arriving today/arriving soon and even outbound packages now.
