Out of the last 5 orders I made at Lego Shop@home all had damaged sets with dents,
large creases, partially squashed boxes etc. So in all 5 orders almost all boxes
where damaged. Before this year I had these damages in about 50% of the orders
but not all boxes inside the shipments were damaged. At this moment 100% is more
(mostly more) or less damaged. And yes, of course I contacted Lego and they let
me return shipments and reshipped replacement sets (that also were damaged) or
gave me some extra Insiderpoints.
Lego provides large outer boxes that are filled for less than 50% with sets without
any protection, the sets have too much space for movement. No large airbubbles,
brown paper or whatever.

And although I provide them with pictures, return shipments etc. I do get tired
of it, it gives me the feeling of loosing credibility although it is their mistake.
Their service is good most of the time but a good service starts with a good
product at the first place.

Today I send them a message ‘if I place a new order please remind me I shouldn’t
have done this’.
It really annoys me and is getting under my skin a bit.

Dosnt sound like fun it’s weird tho as all the packages I get are filled with
brown paper so things are in great condition usually (although the only sets
I’ve gotten as of late are gwp)

Obvious (to me) that your orders are being filled from a different warehouse
than the EU ones. If TLG is farming out the fulfillment, it may well be different
organizations handling it.

Here a picture of the way it was packed, I made a small video but that is too
large to e-mail to Lego and not possible to place here.

I would not be surprised if I have more box sizes here, than that warehouse has.
At one time, I was up over 60 unique sizes. As the years go by, shipping costs
go up, and buyers willing to pay them does down, I'm considering transferring
some of my excess boxes into composting bins. Sending the cellulose back to where
it came from (and recovering some of my space).

Sorry to heard this, having exactly the same issues with my last 10 shipments
from TLG, all sets have either dents or are totally damaged.

Have reported this several times, seems quality of the packaging is no longer
one of their concerns, it needs to be green and cheap for them. As a compensation
I've 100 VIP points for all those shipments.

My last parcel was completely destroyed as Adhesive tape used is a very cheap,
with water-based glue and recyclable paper and is 100% recyclable, so very "green".
But the challenge is that it doesn't hold the parcel properly.

If this continues, I will only buy from BL or BO then.

Same with me although they gave me some more.

But the challenge is that it doesn't hold the parcel properly.

I had an answer from Lego by email about 2 weeks ago with a different order,
they mentioned they are looking for a better way to pack the Lego and still have
less impact on the environment.

If this continues, I will only buy from BL or BO then.

I had to send a few of the most badly damaged sets back to Belgium where they
have a storage centre.
No problem at all with this but I did had to e-mail them with their request to
pack it in the best possible way to avoid damage.
You do understand I had the need to call them to ask them how they dare to ask
this to a customer.
And yes, I packed them carefully in bubblewrap like they should have done.
Due to the fact they have an uncommon postal service I had to make a small cardrive
to deliver it.

It is pretty stupid, one of their green initiatives to reduce packaging so they
don't include any padding to stop damage but possibly increasing their xarbon
footprint as they then have to have three journeys instead of one if a replacement
is needed. I guess they bet on most customers not caring if the boxes are damaged.

That's so true!
This bad packaging is also against their principle "Only the best is good
enough” / in Danish the LEGO motto "Det bedste er ikke for godt".

So sad that I had those experiences, at least the content is not damaged.

Does LEGO still use that motto anywhere? Once it is no longer true, it becomes
a bit of a joke. We had a chain of stores here that used the slogan 'Never
Knowingly Undersold' but it was clearly not true and they regularly charged
more than other retailers, and often made excuses to get out of price matching
their competitors. They dropped using the slogan.

word of caution about constantly asking for replacements from TLG, they will
just ban you from future orders from shop@home if you do this too many times,
regardless of whose fault it is. After your account gets to a certain point
of returns/exchanges, TLG just refuses all your orders moving forward and there
is nothing you can do to change their minds.

It has gotten so much better in my area! They switched from FedUp to UPS and
I have had little to no damage since. I complained every time I got something
from FedUp delivered. Of course FedUp didn't care, but LEGO finally heard
my complaints, maybe? Anyway, they are delivered by UPS now and it is much better.

Have a few sets en route via UPS at this time… anxious to see how it arrives.
FedUp was just terrible so glad to see they switched.

Have had many damaged shipments… one of them was repeated attempts of Mickey
and Minnie keychains. They were thrown in a paper mailer and three sets of them
came with the noses of the characters with all the black paint rubbbed off. They
simply don’t seem to care.

Our Dutch Lego parcels are delivered by DPD but it is Lego that packs them in
Vilvoorde Belgium.
The outer box has about 50% leftover space, is quite thinly cardboard etc.
So I can’t blame the shipper, it is Lego that is to blame.

I think their boxes have become thinner than they were a few years ago. I've
got some shipping boxes that must have been stacked with their contents in for
ten years and they are still as straight as the day they came. Whereas ones from
a couple of months ago are bowed and deformed.

Can confirm and it annoys me as well.
Every parcel I get from them was re-packed/taped by the delivery company (DPD),
because their bio-degradable tape simply doesn't seem to be strong enough
to hold everything together during shipment.
And yes, I don't remember when I received the last order from them without
any damages on the Lego Set boxes.

If they send replacements and you refuse to return the original sets when they
ask you to, you will be billed for the replacements.

Here the same. And every time I contact them, they say we will send your complaints
to custumorservice. But it doesn't get better.
Always praying that my sets will survive the trip from Vilvoorde.
