I have about 40 32x32 baseplates I'd like to add to my store. Problem is
that I'm not sure of the best way to ship them. Do sellers just typically
ship them in large bubble envelopes or boxes? Large envelopes seem the most economical
but I'm concerned about damage to the plates. Boxes seem the most safe but
more costly to ship. What are your recommendations? Thanks.

I've not shipped any myself, but I received a few and they always been in
a box. I would accept the higher shipping cost as a buyer (or a seller if I
listed any) to make sure they arrived safely and not risking a returned or charge
back.

Make friends with local pizza shop and ask if you can buy their boxes maybe a
few at a time.

Pizza boxes can work -- especially for 48 x 48.

Regular 32 x 32 plates fit nicely in Priority Mail box # 1097 and work great
if additional Lego parts are in the same order.

The cheapest way to ship baseplates is to cut down some other corrugated cardboard
box and make your own flat but un-bendable package.

Baseplates need protection from being bent or damaged at the corners -- they
don't really need padding, such as a bubble mailer. If you have a large enough
bubble mailer, then go ahead and use it, but add some cardboard to prevent bending
in transit.

* * *

I once ordered baseplates AND a bunch of other parts (support girders and 2x8
bricks) thinking that the seller would be smart enough to lay them out FLAT along
the backside of the baseplates -- I even informed the seller that was why
I spent extra money and purchased the other parts and to please package that
way.

NOPE -- the seller was an idiot and packed the parts in a big lump and used
an oversized Kraft paper envelope. Thankfully, it was a local order (PA to NY)
and everything arrived okay but it could have been a disaster if the envelope
had failed or been subject to rough handling.

The few times I've shipped them, they've been Moon Crater baseplates,
so they have to go by package service in Canada.

I just took an Amazon box with the right L and W and cut it down to size to the
correct height. The pizza box idea is pretty brilliant though!

You can fold cardboard and place the base plates between the sides. Then fit them
into a large envelope. Also a good idea to put "Do not bend" on the outside.
I also occasionally find a thin box that is the correct size. I prefer the box.

I bet the boxes people use to send vinyl records could work well for at least
some baseplates.

If they just got the baseplate (and maybe a few small parts) try sliding it into
an unbuilt box sideways

The old games boxes are great for this.

The difference between the weight of a box and the weight of a large envelope
is tiny compared to the weight of the baseplates. A box is the only sane way
to ship baseplates.

To everyone who replied, thanks so much for the feedback. I think I'll be
sure to use boxes. The pizza box idea is good but it seems like all the pizza
places in my area have thin boxes. I went ahead a ordered some 12x12x4 shipping
boxes. That way I can fit the raised baseplates in them.

Shocked no one mentioned this but I use record mailers. You can make them skinny
if they only order a couple baseplates or a bit bigger to add parts with baseplates.

They are cheap/lightweight and easy to use.

Within Canada i can ship up to three baseplates with mailer. It will only cost
3-6$
I have to cut the sizes of mailer and then tape the whole thing to make it fit.
When i ship only one baseplate, i add carsboard for extra protection.
They are robust enough i trust they will be delivered safely. They cannot bend
it so i don’t need to add a sticker ‘please do not bend’.
For usa or international, it doesnt matter as i have to ship them as parcel.
I just make sure to ship in the lightest possible box. For that i may even ship
again as mailer to make sure the weight remain below 250g or below 500g.

curious as I've never heard that done before

The 32x32 baseplates fit perfectly in a #5 size bubble mailer with a piece of
cardboard to stabilize, that’s the largest possible mailer accepted by Canada
Post as oversized letter before you move to parcel rate. So you don’t have to
cut and tape, or ship in boxes unless they’re 48x48 or raised.

I can even ship Moon Crater baseplates, 9v motors, 48x48 baseplates, a Ninanjo
sets,...

I basically cut both sides of the mailer and after placing the baseplate, i taped
it.
I also put a cardboard because i shipped only one baseplate. I think for two
or three baseplates, you won’t need a cardboard.

The final weight of this mailer: 160gr

depending on the location that may be worth it but the sub $5 parcel
shipping to some locations with stallion is tempting as it would be less complicated
packing

May I ask though, why cut and tape a #4 mailer when a #5 mailer fits the 32x32
baseplates perfectly and still ships oversized letter? I’m just curious.

depending on the location that may be worth it but the sub $5 parcel
shipping to some locations with stallion is tempting as it would be less complicated
packing

You are lucky their office is near you. Today i shipped to them a consolidated
package including 6 packages.
but i dont agree the packing is complicated. It took me 5 minutes.

I didn't know it would fit.
In any case, I have bought 100 x #4 mailers few years ago, and they occupy some
room in my small place and after few years, I have not used half of my $4 mailers.
If I buy a few #5 mailers, they each cost even more so I am fine with cutting
and taping but it may work for you if you have enough space to store them.

Thanks.

Other than hunger, could there be any other reason for them tto remove a feedback?
I always thought this is because two profiles were merged otherwise a buyer decided
to remove his feedback, which is not something i expcet a buyer to do.

If you don’t give a good reason, i think my post will be reposted some time inthe
future! 😀

Could be maybe buyer got banned (this this one presumably wouldn’t delete the
feedback), buyer deleted feedback, admin deleted feedback, you completed npb
and the buyer had left feedback (presumably positive otherwise you would have
noticed) or something

6 smiles as usual.

No it doesn't.

   buyer deleted feedback,

they can do within the first 30 days they left their Fb. This happened few times
to me so far, so I don't think this is the case.

  admin deleted feedback,

Just because or out of hunger?!
I had assumed the situation improved since Lego took over BL.

you completed npb and the buyer had left feedback (presumably positive otherwise you would have noticed) or something

No, not the case.

But is possible, unlikely but currently the most plausible option

Possibly due to it violating rules or something. This is possible although
far far far less likely then the other option

I guess this feedback-disappearing happens by BL merging profiles.
