Bought sealed in 2012. Is that alternate head supposed to be there?
In most cases that is true. But the exception is when the only difference is
the stud-type of the head. Because otherwise we'd get loads of alternate
minifigures from the transition period between blocked open stud and hollow stud.

Oh, I hadn’t realized it was only the stud that was different.
Now, still, I thought that, in these cases, there was just a note in the minifigure’s
inventory.
