I just got this message
"Bonjour
merci"
Which is to funny if its translating correctly. from what I can gather with translation
they are saying
"Good morning
I placed an order with you on April 7, 2023 in the name of (name) for a clone
trooper helmet (14553)
Tracking ID (removed)
I just received the package and to my surprise it is essential oil for the hair!!
Can you tell me how to get the part ordered...
THANKS"
for reference they order this helmet
and this is the package size
18 × 13 × 5 cm
30 g so I don't even know if its large enough for essential oil for hair
or if you can even legally sent that stuff in a tiny bubble envelope international
I told them I have it on video of me finding the part and that something must
be lost in translation or they messaged the wrong seller and am waiting to hear
back.
And yes I can confirm I never sent them essential oil for hair and I remember
shipping them this correct item as it stuck out to me as interesting as a 0 feedback
user from France who just registered and ordered 1 helmet from Canada and nothing
else so do you think this is an attempt at fraud or did something get lost
in translation
There has been a spate of people receiving odd items instead of the item ordered
from Amazon.
However that was for expensive items.
Can’t imagine what’s happening here.

I would suggest asking them to send you a picture of the oil, along with any
invoice that was included in the package.

good idea. I just send a message asking for photos. (the tracking number he provided
does perfectly match up on my end and is marked as delivered) I don't include
invoices in the package but my business card should be included along with the
invoice on the outside of the package on the label. I asked for photos of the
contents along with the packaging

Also give them your address and ask them to verify that the return address on
the package is the same.

Unfortunately nothing is lost in the translation
Based on this experience with a user in France, I think you should limit your
forum discussions with 1001bricks to only 10 posts per day.
How can I get some of this essential oil I keep hearing about?

Not sure I already talked about this in forum, but 10 years ago while we were
waiting for orders to arrive, we received a DHL parcel with... golden 'brazilian'
g-strings... (like Borat's maybe, you know)
We had so much crying out laughs while asking / accusing each other to have ordered
those
Another time we received even weirder, erm, I can't describe, for adult usage?
We kindly re-tape it, put it in our neighbor mail box, and are still laughing
about it.
So, receiving "something else" is very possible...

but he restated the tracking number which matches
You know, they scan one parcel, and when they arrived at your mail box they give
one parcel... Often the same, sometimes not
yes but if they deliver the wrong parcel does it have the tracking number of
the right one
I've seen it: they announce delivery (e-mail/SMS) of your parcel, they deliver
another one, then you get confirmation of your parcel has been delivered.
It's just confusion between "something's scanned" and "something
(else) delivered".
Last week I received resin 3D printer "ink" which wasn't for us.
I brought it back to the sorting facility where we ship, they... laughed
Just human things, ya know?
You were spot on to the point I now think you are one who went to the post office
to switch the labels here’s part of a photo without any personal info
and it’s a different envelope then what I use in addition to seeing the full
picture the new label with my info is put on top of some random label from someone
from Australia. Probably something to do with the package usually being upside
down trying to get used to normal physics it got messed up and convinced you
to swap labels
In the morning I’ll see if I can figure anything else out otherwise I’ll send
the refund. There was a businesses card from the other person but trying to get
4 people up to date on what happened (myself the other seller and both buyers)
along with trying to figure out shipping stuff in other countries with all the
legal confusion (especially since the other seller lives in Australia and reverse
physics scare me) I’ll probably not start down that rabbit hole and chalk it
up to a cost of businesses

Something like this happened to me last year, customer received a shoebox with
my label, problems was the distribution center pasted another customer label
to my parcel when sorting.
Inside the shoebox was information of the other customer, I messaged him and
offered labels for both to fix the problem, and I opened a claim with my shipping
company to refund me the original label, their solution was just to return the
shoebox parcel to me...

I think this particular rabbit hole's occupants dug their way to your doorstep!
