I never forget parting out a set and it was like 3 times its original value,
absolutley fantastic! I think those days are gone. Sales were massive for most
people during the pandemic, ofcourse there was tonns of new money in the economy.
Not to mention people stuck at home. Sales were bound to increase for the most
part but people must have known it was going to platau back to normal. I remember
seeing my inventory loose on average 20% year on year due to other stores selling
stock cheap and dragging overall price down, per part. Thats a massive hit! and
that 20% or so reduction also needs to be included when costing sets to part
out. Ive seen many poeple double up on stock only to see a 30-40% increase in
sales, Not sure if theres a secret formula out there for this or a secret to
it id love to know lol. But 1 thing needs to be remembered, TLG own both the
primary and secondry market now i.e bricklink. They have access to massive data
regarding whats popular, whats not, whats trending, whats not. I believe this
is why we see re-releases of sets that have gone to the moon on price, all this
ultimatley effects the price per part and whats for sale. Thats my opinion, not
necessarily correct but just how i kind of see it.

Yah it’s the good old supply and demand. During the pandemic sales were up but
many new stores joined so supply was able to keep up with demand but now demand
has fallen but supply is still up so it lowered drastically. Im almost certain
tho it’s headed in the “right” direction to naturally balance out tho as it seems
like the number of stores is falling as the people who were here to make quick
money are slowly leaving
