same here. bricklink is like that tho you'll often have a few weeks very
good then several slow (then super slow for about half the year) then back to
really good and medium

You must be right. Since 2018 the selling is getting weaker and weaker or do
I imagine things. Is it maybe the whole world political or economy situation?
It could also be possible, that I have got the wrong stuff for sale. I do not
know. Maybe somebody can advise.

It could be a number of different factors:
1. Seasonal/periodic variation: Spring and summer generally tend to be slower
than fall and winter. People spend more time playing outside than playing inside
with legos.
2. Political/economic uncertainty: When people don't have as much money to
spend, they tend to spend it on necessities (food, housing, etc.) rather than
luxury goods like legos.
3. More sellers in recent years uploading lots of parts, undercutting other sellers,
and generally driving down prices for parts, making it harder to make a sale.
4. Taxes and regulations can make cross-border trade expensive or difficult;
some people may be less willing to buy or sell internationally than in the past.
5. Your own store/inventory: Maybe you had for sale more in-demand items in the
past, but those have been sold and what is being uploaded now is not as popular.
6. The pandemic lockdowns caused a temporary increase in lego sales when a lot
of people were stuck at home and needed entertainment, but now that some of the
restrictions have been lifted people are doing other things and sales have come
back down.
More lots and more parts equal more sales, generally speaking. Personally, I
have double the amount of parts than what I had last year at this time, but my
sales have not doubled. They have gone up some, but not to where I had hoped.

It ebbs and flows. I'm in a dry spot right now too but I'm not too worried.
The first three weeks of March; 6100 bricks sold. Since March 22: 720. Over
that same period of time I've added 35,000.
But here's the rub; in early march there was a pattern where people were
clearing out my inventories of certain colors and that have always been popular,
but they weren't part of the newly added inventory. So at the moment, I
don't have many of my most popular/profitable bricks and colors so of course
sales will be slow.

April tends to be a slow month
People doing their taxes and freaking out after realizing how much they spent
on lego last year.
Im about to start my taxes tomorrow considering everything I don't
know if I want to know
Ah, my favorite time of year. [sarcasm] Here's how my tax adventure goes:
So, I bought this set in 2014 for this much, parted it out in 2021 for this much,
and might have sold some parts from it last week possibly after updating the
price for this much. How much do I owe and when? Scratches head...

Ran in to this this season. How the heck do you calculate costs of Lot A when
you've consistently added to it from sets you bought at retail, sets you
bought with VIP points, and others where you got the set at a massive discount?
Exact quote from my accountant when I brought this up this tax season; "blink
blink) Just try to do your best."

I'm told that the best time to account for the cost is when you buy the stock.
(That ship has sailed for me as I mostly sell my own collection purchased over
a decade.)
The second best time is when you add it to your shop. This requires a log and
careful bookkeeping. (See previous note on ship sailing by...)
That leaves when you actually sell stuff which leads back to the impossible scenario
I already described.
So I do 'Just try to do you best." like your accountant says too! My
only defense is being under the threshold for likely scrutiny.

Sorry for commentating this again. I don`t know , maybe I am imagining things,
but it has been very quiet on Easter Sales days. Is it me or is this becoming
real that Lego isn`t interesting anymore. Can somebody tell me there experience
since this beginning year. What do you think ?
sales are a roller coaster. ive had a few weeks with almost no sales and some
where I can barely ship them all out. it's been like that ever since I started
selling.

Overall this year has been really good for me. Of course I'm also running
a yuge sale right now so that could be part of it!

Things are rebounding for me after a three week sputter. I'm back up to
about 2-3 orders per day. I too had to run a sale on some tiles and plates because
they accounted for nearly 1/4 of my entire inventory.

I'm gonna say this a knowing I'm part of the "problem" I'm
talking about, but the thing is LEGO is more popular every day. The problem isn't
lack of interest, it's oversaturation. More interest means more sellers means
less sales for individual sellers. Markets, economics, capitalism, yadda yadda.
New sellers thinking this a quick buck will drop off soon enough and things will
reach equilibrium.

yup although I can't say with absolute certainty I'm fairly certain the
total number of stores (in Canada at least) has dropped a decent amount since
the covid rush but at the same time buyers have also dropped since the covid
rush so its always a fun balance

Isn't there a way to see some stats from all of Bricklink? Does anyone post
the amount or orders done each month since all you have to do is use the first
order of the month and the last.
That should be easy to figure out.

Seems overall it is as always (except Covid years)
Not really. The new baseline post-Covid is *much* higher than the baseline pre-Covid.
That means all of the people that joined during the Covid boom have not really
gone anywhere.
