Can anyone help me identify if seller A is selling fake Lego bricks? I purchased
Dark bluish grey 42796 and transparent 31570 from two Bricklink stores, however,
the bricks I received look different. The transparent 31570 from seller A looks
very yellowish and the Dark bluish grey 42796 has small circle and small Lego
logo compared to the ones I bought before and from another store. I never thought
that Bricklink has fake Lego bricks, please help.

even new ones can overtime but it's likely just from when lego started mixing
colours themselves and they lost colour consistency

They are very unlikely to be fake if they have the logo. The technic part has
been in production for 20 years. Molds change slightly over time without changing
the functionality.

Thanks for the reply. It's just I bought this type of brick multiple times,
but just this time it looks different from my others.

To add to the technic one, you make reference to it being 42796, but you can
see part of the numbers of the alternate number on your part - 42003. LEGO makes
tweaks to their parts over time and issues new alternate #s (but aren't large
enough of a difference in the BL catalogue to warrant a part variation a/b).

I'm not sure about the trans-clear, but the trans-light blue 1x2 tiles from
71741 have two hues. It was just as clearly obvious as your photo so I didn't
merge the bags.

Trans-clear simply comes in two varieties. The trans-clear bricks (your seller
A) that look a little bit more yellow are/were actually the norm for decades.
Only in recent years, they have gotten a little bit more of a blueish hue. These
are all LEGO, and are all new.

Could be the new MABS trans-clear instead of the older polycarbonate

I put the alternate # in the other response about the technic part, but echoing
that the transparent parts are also normal. I've seen this for this part
and a couple of them like the one with the little bar across it. Many of the
transparent parts (even in other colours) show some of these kinds of variations
depending when they were produced.

You could not be more wrong about either of those being fake. Transparent colors
vary greatly and have changed over time. For that matter, translucent colors
vary greatly and have changed over time. Molds and mold marks vary greatly and
have changed over time. Clone brands do not use quality LEGO plastics and the
LEGO copyright.

LEGO has thousands of parts, molds, products, variants, and production methods
and they change them ALL THE TIME. They have been producing stuff for decades.
Why do people assume the slightest differences are automatically fake?

Sorry, just feeling a little rant-y today. Please ignore my lecturing tone and
go enjoy your LEGO.

Good luck,
Jen
