I don't think Studio relies on Bricklink anymore since Lego owns both; Studio
replaced LDD as the official designer program, so I'd assume that they would
fund each thing separately
You really think LEGO is funding bricklink and/or studio? Bruh
Yah I’d have to see something officially confirming that from LEGO before I would
Believe it
BrickLink Studio is made, paid, & owned by LEGO BrickLink, Inc.
“We are totally ditching LDD (that we actually already deadlined 7 years ago
and whose parts library we didn’t update for 4+ years¹) and now tell you to use
Studio”
doesn’t mean
“we took Studio away from BrickLink and are giving millions to the dev team”

¹ Yeah, not counting the botched LDD 4.3.12 for Windows in 2019 that has a very
reduced parts library (compared to 4.3.11) that it can’t update.

Not gunna lie. I read this over like 3 times and haven’t the slightest idea what
any of it means all I see is that LEGO bricklink owns studio which they have
since the bought bricklink

Here’s a car analogy (I mean, car analogies work with ALL Americans, including
Canadians, right?):
The business ‘BrickLink’ is a car, the catalogue is the engine, the website is
the bodywork, and Studio is the tyres.
The plates said ‘BrickLink, Inc.’
The LEGO Group bought the car.
The plates now say ‘LEGO BrickLink, Inc.’
Same car, same engine, same bodywork, same tyres, different driver.

No?
more complicated but I think ill just go with lego bought bricklink and renamed
it lego bricklink and bricklink which is now lego bricklink owns studio

And I just wonder: what is TLG using when creating renders and instructions?
Surely they know how to do it perfectly.

They have (had?) another version of LDD. A “professional” version if you like.
There was a ‘Hollywood’ version for the movies too (or maybe it’s the same).
There’s threads on fan sites where people dissect videos from LEGO (especially
the ones about the movies) and hunt for the computer screens that can be seen
and list the differences with “our” LDD.
That’s why LEGO talked about “LDD Fan” when they ditched it: it’s the public,
free, limited LDD that they abandonned.
The ‘pro’ version has Setec Astronomy… er, I mean "too many secrets,” to
be shared.
