“we took Studio away from BrickLink and are giving millions to the dev team”

¹ Yeah, not counting the botched LDD 4.3.12 for Windows in 2019 that has a very
reduced parts library (compared to 4.3.11) that it can’t update.

any of it means all I see is that LEGO bricklink owns studio which they have
since the bought bricklink

They have (had?) another version of LDD. A “professional” version if you like.
There was a ‘Hollywood’ version for the movies too (or maybe it’s the same).
There’s threads on fan sites where people dissect videos from LEGO (especially
the ones about the movies) and hunt for the computer screens that can be seen
and list the differences with “our” LDD.
That’s why LEGO talked about “LDD Fan” when they ditched it: it’s the public,
free, limited LDD that they abandonned.
The ‘pro’ version has Setec Astronomy… er, I mean "too many secrets,” to
be shared.
