All 4032 Passenger Plane Sets (4032-1 – 4032-13) have the same Box and Instruction.
Both have Copyright 2003 and both don’t show Stickers. Sticker Sheets for the
different Airline versions were added to the back of the Box in a plastic sheet.
For some sets a leaflet was found, showing the stickers, which was probably given
separate or also attached outside the box.
Since all versions have the same box, we decided to make a Generic Entry without
Sticker Sheets, which is now part of all Airline versions of this set.
I opened two sealed sets, which didn’t have a Leaflet showing the stickers.
4032-1 Passenger Plane – LEGO Air
I bought this set sealed. The Factory code on the box is 1115, which means it
was sealed/left the factory between March 6-12, 2005. Both Box and Instruction
have Copyright 2003, the Stickersheets 2004, so Year Released is set to 2004.
- There is not one Light- or Dark Bluish part in this set, nor a Reddish Brown.
- I can confirm that the White Hinge Plates are 44301a and 44302a and the Wedge
Plates are 4859.
- other variants I can confirm (most already obvious, but I will mention them
anyway): 2413, 3794a, 4079, 4854, 4855, 4856a, 4858, 4865, 4868b, 4870
- Turntables, wheels as well as Torso/Head came assembled
4032-11 Passenger Plane – KLM
I bought this set sealed. The Factory code on the box is 3515, which means it
was sealed/left the factory end of August 2005. Both Box and Instruction have
Copyright 2003, the Stickersheets 2006, so year released was set to 2006.
The Inventory is the same as 4032-1 except for the Wedge Plates. Both White and
Dark Gray are 48183
Side Note:
The first version of this set that was added to the catalog was 4032-8 SWISS,
it was also the first set with an inventory. After that this inventory was probably
just copied to all other 12 versions. I can’t tell if the other versions were
really checked by sealed set contents, for submitters couldn’t add a source at
that time.
After the year released for set 4032-8 was changed from 2004 to 2005, all old
gray parts were changed to bluish gray parts based on the time line of Light
Gray and Dark Gray. After that the same changes were made for the other 12 versions
of this set.
Given the Factory Codes on the boxes I bought, the original inventory had the
old colors and there’s never been a formal change request for more modern colors,
I have reason to believe that alle these sets only came with Brown, Dark Gray
and Light Gray parts.
The box shows 151 pcs, the Inventories show 145 pcs and 12 total in the 3 Minifigures.
However the Torso’s and Heads came assembled, which gives 145+12-3=154 and the
stickersheets didn’t come in the box, which gives 154-2=152. Leaves a difference
of 1 part, which I can’t find. Maybe TLG forgot to count the Light Gray Plate
2 x 16, which didn’t come in a sealed bag, but seperate in the box. Just a guess.
Attached 4 images of Sealed Box and Sealed Bags of 4032-1 and 4 of 4032-11.
Attached images showing old color inside sealed bags and new color outside the
bags.
First image is from a KLM bag.
It's quite easy to see the difference between Brown / Reddish Brown and Dark
Gray / Dark Bluish Gray. It's much harder to see the difference between Light
Gray and Light Bluish Gray, at least for some parts. The last image shows the
decorated slope in Light Gray with a Light Bluish Gray part on the left and a
Light Gray part on the right.
