The parts list in instructions show the qty of regular parts. That is why we
need sealed set contents to determine the extra parts. So I can't approve
deleting extra parts, based on instructions. If you check again, you will find
none of the extra parts in the parts list.

4073: Instructions shows that it comes with only 2, and both are used in the alien ship. There is no extra.
2540: The instructions show that it comes with 3, but only 2 are used in the set. 1 of them is an extra.
the 3th one was changed from extra to regular in 2008
If the parts list in the instructions shows a quantity of 3, all 3 are regular
parts.
In 2008 changes were made and the inventory was confirmed based on Sealed Set
Contents.
