| I was trying to make an inventory of
This set has about 10 new parts (or recolours) not yet in the catalogue of BL.
Since LEGO owns BL why can't new parts at least be added to the BL catalogue
with their part numbers? The new parts do have a PPC but not a part number!
For instance I'm looking at the new tile 1x2 with round corners. Rebrickable
lists this as part number 1126. My eyesight prohibits to see if this number is
indeed molded on the part.
The automatically filled in data from LEGO have perfect digital pictures. Why
can't we use those pictures when adding the parts to the catalogue? (I know
we can but it's discouraged by the BL inventory admins).
Thanks
Martin

Each new PCC should be checked for the mold number and by a person with an actual
set. LEGO data and the contents of their sets are not always the same. The LEGO
data basically tells us what to go check. LEGO frequently changes over their
PCCs before the parts show up in the sets and vice versa. Sellers here care about
accuracy. That can only be achieved by manually checking every thing we can.
Their 'perfect digital pictures' are actually fairly generic renders.
Using them is not discouraged by the admins. You can clearly see that a large
majority of our catalog uses them.
Sometimes, they can't be used when they don't show the correct part variation.
(And a fair majority of them need to be adjusted to resemeble their actual colors.)
Renders of patterned parts tend to be fairly generic as well and a photograph
is way better.
And we all have to use a magnifying glass to see the numbers.

This would be a lot easier if Bricklink somehow had direct access to the LEGO
parts database. Bricklink is still missing a lot of PCCs from the Scala era,
but I'm going about adding those as fast as I can. You'll notice that
rarer colors like Salmon now have PCCs.

How do you find them? Or is it a secret?
