My suggestion is because of the posts that were removed this morning that all
new users must have their post approved by the moderator until they have 1 positive
feedback score. This is the same requirement to open a store.

As one person said, there are kids on this website, something should be done
to protect the incident.

I agree with you about protecting the kids. But what about the adults that don't
want to be protected? Don't they have rights too?

as an adult, i would rather wait maybe a day or two for forums than see almost

What rights (within the terms and conditions of BrickLink) are not protected
with this suggestion?

Thanks to the members who reported the threads.

This has been suggested before.

Bricklink is a 18+ site. Kids are supposedly supervised by the accountholder.

It was a rare incident with nothing to see.
Text was clearly spam encouraging to not click on links.

Approving first posts doesn't help much.
Then it's the second or third post violating the rules.

Please keep reporting rule breaking posts.
A forum moderator wil cancel them asap.

Please explain why

Then it's the second or third post violating the rules.

A spammer is not likely not going to spend money on the site just to post spam.

That was also my first thought. New users sometimes post questions to learn how
to make their first purchase. And not all sellers bother to leave feedback.

yes, but if all it takes is a simple admin approval it should be there relatively
quickly and they can still ask questions ect.

After reading the first two words 'Delhi Escorts' it was obvious that
it was spam.
I scrolled down, saw some obscure links and canceled the thread.
My mobile device didn't show any pictures in the post.

It's everyone's free choice to continue to read the complete spam and
click links.
I choose to cancel the thread without further investigation.

That was a good sensible response. Thank you for taking care of this.

It is insulting how you have minimized what happened.

This forum is open to anyone in the world, you don't have to be a registered
user to see the forum. Ban all the kids until 18 in the world and they can still
see the site without a login.

I was being humorous earlier. But kids today have seen a lot worse then that
before they find this site. And while I didn't study the picture in detail,
I don't remember it being any worse than prime time tv. IMHO they do a pretty
good job of kicking the spammers out quickly.

My kids don't watch prime time tv, internet website filters consider BrickLink
to be a safe site.

How about instead of a "cancel" button on every post (that does nothing if it's
no your own post), add a "report" button on every post, that way we all feel
better that we have let the forum admins know something is up.

This "report" button doesn't even have to work, it just has to make us feel
like we are contributing and making the forum a better place. Just don't
tell anyone it doesn't work.

While true in theory, there is no BL implemented parental controls, or paired
parent/child accounts. There is also no way to verify age. So it appears to be
nothing more than a theory, with some enforcement when it goes upside-down.

Most kids are well behaved, but there are some (adults as well) who think anonymous
trashing is great fun. IC has given sellers the ability to hold back the tide,
from some of the egregious behavior of the past. I'm not in favor of a membership
fee, but there needs to be something that pro-actively puts a speed bump in the
way of this happening.

A passing thought … perhaps we need moderation for the first 5 or 10 posts made
by a new account.
