I just saw

Part No: 68035 Name: Minifigure, Headgear Mask with Six Spider Leg Horns
*
68035 Minifigure, Headgear Mask with Six Spider Leg Horns
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear
arrived in the catalogue.

Three Spider Legs Horns”?  I count 6 legs.

Yes, I could have made a change request but I wanted to know if there was a rationale
first.

No rationale - not sure what happened there as it did say six when it was submitted
for approval - I thought it strange that it wasn't eight given that it was
a spider.

Thanks for spotting it

Okay.  One of these bugs humans have too
Thanks for the change.

Yeah, it’s amazing the number of people who don’t know or care that spiders
have eight legs¹.  “Artistic licence,” like Mickey has only four fingers, or
Shelob a sting in the…, well, where Sam put it

(¹Or ten with the pedipalps.  I never got why these didn’t count.)

  Thanks for spotting it

It was pure luck: I regularly check new parts but I generally only look at the
pretty pictures

The Spider-Queen's mech/mount in the set has eight legs, so LEGO clearly
knows how many legs spiders should have. I assume that the headdress has
only six "legs", since any more would either just look like antlers (sh496),
restrict movement, or be prone to breakage at this size.

I don't know anything about the misnumbering in the name, but I do think
it's a very interesting new part. Do you know what minifig is goes to or
what set it comes in?

Thanks! I was guessing it belonged to some new Ninjago villain, but I was wrong.
