You actually added those as extras back in 2009. Are you sure I should get rid
of them? This set seems to be right at the transition time for these parts from
what I am finding, so maybe your set did not have them on sprue.
There are two versions of this set, one with the large Octan sticker (shown in
the unboxing link I posted) and one without. Maybe yours is the one without,
and the version without that sticker had no sprues. If so, I would like to set
up alternates.

Found in the box the used stickersheet (165345), the plastic bag and the catalog
109883-EU-OS (from 1993).
When I build up this set I leave also a small note with this info:
extra parts:
* 1x Trans-Light Blue Minifigure Visor (2447)
* 1x Black Plate, Round 1 x 1 (4073)
* 1x Trans-Yellow Plate, Round 1 x 1 (4073)
I can not remember this set came with the 4073 on sprue. The 4073 are like they
came on a sprue. But think they came already factory separated.

Can we be sure that all those part variants were changed at the same time? Lego
usually doesn't throw away old parts, so it's possible that there were
sets where some parts were the old variants while others were already replaced
with the new variants.

No, we can't be sure. That is why every part substitution in the above lists
is given its own Match ID in the inventory instead of lumping the whole group
of parts together as one alternate group with one Match ID.
The only reason I used those lists above were to keep track of all of the differences
between the MISB set unboxing on brickshelf and the MISB set that Stefaan had
opened. The word "version" might have been a poor choice of words.
