My suggestion is to be able to remove the VAT at the time you add an item into
your inventory.
Besides the fact I am not allowed to sell specific items with VAT, if I would
add a very rare vintage item for let's say 121 euro, I will only receive
100 euro selling it to someone outside of Europe. So I will loose 21 euro.
At the moment I therefor put all my used items in stock.
Thanks in advance.

Used in combination with the VAT option?

p.s. is there an option to see if there are any votes (separated YES and NO)?

| This comes up every few months but there is no solution to it currently. You'd
have to be able to set separate VAT rates for different items for this. I just
hope that the issue was brought up at the recent EU sellers' round table
as well.
You can work around this but it is very cumbersome and work intensive. For example
you price all margin goods so that the net price is their actual price and then
you describe in the comments that the erroneously added VAT will be removed for
EU buyers. Or you don't use the built-in VAT feature but deduct the VAT as
credit where it's applicable.

I understand what you are saying, but it doesn't work. Buyers come into your
store when your price is good.
If I price margin goods higher, they won't even come to my store, so they
won't see that I will reduce VAT for EU buyers.
If I remove the VAT feature, non EU buyers won't come to my store for New
goods, for the very same reason.

It works more or less. I don't use the VAT feature and still several Asian
and other non-EU buyers have found my shop and are happily buying at net prices.
In fact most of my sales are to buyers in non-EU member countries right now on
Bricklink.
I'd advise optimizing your store for the kind of stock you have more of.
If it's mostly margin goods then don't use the VAT feature, if it's
mostly goods with VAT then use it. For me it's 90% goods with VAT so I'll
switch to using the VAT feature soon. This way most of my goods will be better
placed in the price guide for non-EU buyers and those few margin goods will suffer
when viewed by EU buyers.

you have to pay vat on the profit , when you buy a new or used set from a non
vat registered person .

That's right, on the profit, not on the whole price. THAT's the problem.
If I sell a new item for 242 euro, I have to pay 42 euro VAT and the price is
reduced for non EU buyers with 42 euro to 200 euro.
If I bought this very same set from a non vat registered person for 142, I only
have to pay VAT over 100 euro is 21 euro. Bricklink still makes it 200, so I
loose 21 euro if the set is bought by a non EU buyer.

| We have a similar problem in the UK.
Instructions and Books need a 0% VAT rate here.
We would like to see this feature working correctly.

I stand behind this idea. We also need to shut off VAT deduction for a couple
of items.

| This is an excellent sugestion, I strongly vote YES!
In Sweden I have different VAT for NEW vs USED items, aswell as a lower VAT on
instructions & books.
And I also have VAT on shipping depending on sending to EU vs rest of the world.

| You may also sell your NEW lego as margin goods.
I personally feel that selling with VAT reducted should be eliminated from BrickLink.
First, it skews the priceguide. Second an eligible buyer can deduct VAT himself.
You know that if you sell without VAT, you have to report the foreign VAT number
through your administration to the Dutch tax administration office?
