I think the sell a part checklist could use *ANOTHER* check box.
take, for example, an HO 1:87 car. Often, a bumper etc. is broken.
There should be an icon noting that it is "Special."

Or sometimes a Jango is listed with free guns. "Special," again.

That way, the special and broken pieces don't mess up the price guide!

You can Exclude Incomplete Sets from the Price Guide here:

Check box on the right side.

Doesn't stop sellers from incorrectly listing them. But you can report those
listings here:
http://www.bricklink.com/problemInventory.asp
