| I've created a new shipping method for capes and stickers only and I would
like the insurance to be optional below €20 and mandatory above €20 item value
but the setting I made seems to be incorrect since it adds the €4,75 fee for
both criteria by default while it was set to "by request" for orders
below €20. How should it be set up properly?

I don’t know nothing about shipping and store settings but it seems to me that
if the third line says “above 20.00,” that means the second line means “(up
to) 20.00” and so the first line means “(up to) 0.01.”
And your second line has “by default” ticked, not “by request.”

That might be it. Could you please check if my setting is fixed now by adding
this item to your cart and check what it shows for below and above €20 with shipping
method "EU - Priority Letter for Capes / Stickers ONLY"?

See pic… and it stays this way during checkout, and I have the option to choose
insurance in the end.

That being said, you’re a professional, so insurance is for you, not for the
buyer, as you have an obligation to deliver.

Sure thing, that's why I limit it to orders below €20. Could you check how
much it calculates if you add those capes worth of at least €20 please? Insurance
should be mandatory and the final cost should be €7,60 in this case.

Yep. €7.60.

| Your carrier must not like good deals wow insurance starts at 50 Cents CAD
for the first $100 over here (some carries a little more) but 4.75 Euros for
20 euros of product is wild

I imagine that fee is for tracking to prove it was delivered, as in 'insurance'
against the buyer saying it didn't arrive rather than real insurance for
damage or loss. Here, insurance is relatively cheap compared to the contents
value, so long as you have already factored in / paid for tracking.

| That would make more sense but curious why they wouldn’t then just let the normal
shipping option be shown in addition the the special one and instead have the
buyer choose an insurance checkbox that most would miss
