| What's the general sentiment about texting a buyer/seller after a week of
no communication?
I'm coming up on a week for an invoice that hasn't been paid yet for
a large set. Messages are not read and it's a relatively old user with
very low feedback. (so they should know how the system works, but maybe it's
been a while?) There is a phone number attached to the address so I could call
or text but people get funky about that kind of stuff now-a-days.

Just send a reminder, give it 2 to 3 days, then file a NPB.

Email/BL Message? Yes. Call/Text? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
If email/messaging fails, issue an NPB.

NPB is a very NASTY thing. Do NOT do it!!!
I would text them and put it in polite words.
Your set is packed and ready to go. Kindly remit payment and I'll ship it
out today. Thank You.

its standard procedure? if the buyer isn't communicating and isn't paying
its beneficial for other sellers as well as yourself to file and complete an
NPB

Disagree totally. No payment after a week warrants a NPB. Buyers don't always
jump when they see a polite message but when you file the NPB they tend to move.
As a buyer I would be extremely pissed if a seller on here texted or called me
to pay for an order.

Absolutely not.
It's the normal procedure.
When completed it also protects the seller agains a Negative FB.
The only thing is WHEN you start the NPB.
Perso I don't care, and often leave few weeks before I only start it.

According to you, how long should a buyer have before an NPB is opened? Forever?

|
| 1. Unless a buyer has somehow opted in to receive text messages from you, don't
do it.
2. There is nothing wrong with sending a polite reminder by email, or Bricklink
messaging. After 5-7 days is giving the person lots of time.
3. There is nothing nasty about an NPB. An NPB acts as a reminder. It the reminder
works, then the buyer experiences no negative impact from an NPB. If the reminder
does not work, then NPB should be completed, and other sellers warned.

We think alike as selling members in this. Comms over punitive action gets you
further in life, as it does here. In my experience
And yeah I've heard all the arguments over the years, why the site offered
punitive actions are not only a good thing to utilize as a matter of course,
with some even managing to argue it to be a kind of moral imperative
"To each their own" is where I've long ago placed this divergence
of opinion

I take a different approach in wording this type of comms, but yeah I get what
you're aiming at
