| Parting out a single 76269 Avengers tower and the color consistency between the
trans light blue parts out of the same box is extremely disappointing.
The fact that it's different between the same part out of the same bag is
even more infuriating. I know for some people it doesn't matter, but I'm
sure glad I didn't buy this set to build for myself, because the difference
would drive me insane.
I haven't pulled it out of the bag yet, but I saw even the two halves of
30294c01 are different.
I have no need for Lego to replace the parts (since I'm not actually building
the set) as I know customer service will do, but do you think there's any
point in contacting them to just raise awareness to maybe bump up the color QC
a bit? Sort of how light bluish gray parts were all over the place for awhile.
Anyway, rant over...

| Wow, thats terrible. For a 500 euro set. Id be livid and 100% contacting Lego
and let them replace the parts.

| Looks like they might have used a mixture of MABS and ploycarbonate clear parts.

| | Unfortunately the quality in general has been on a decline for a long time now,
and regardless of how many people complain they don't seem to change very
much
|
Yep.
| I've had more parts break as an adult collector than I did when I was a kid
and played with Lego whenever I had free time; parts will just crack and split
while sitting on display
|
Yep, I don't know you, but me I've FAR more LEGO now (the one I use -
not sell) than when I was a kid. So I'm not sure the stats aren't biased
in what you say.
| and requesting replacement parts only goes so far because
they'll eventually ban you if you request too much, no matter how legitimate
the request is
|
Yes, it's very possible. As like Amazon if you return too much, you're
in the sus category and ejected
The problem is; LEGO is basically a Toys for kids manufacturer.
AFAIK kids don't care the exact color of a window compared to another one
in another set.
We AFOLs are:
* only a small part of this market,
* but are far more demanding in terms of solidity, quality, consistancy, etc.
Our demand is VERY different (still IMHO) of what/whom these Toys are made for.
Hence, something fundamental that hardly can't be solved.
Plus the "normal" (capitalistic) tendency of companies to always increase
their margin; but then it's another subject (and I'm not sure here it's
the main problem)...

*can be solved.
Wish we had a forum where we could correct posts even for only 15 minutes or
such

They probably don't, but this is a $500 set. I don't have kids, so I
can't determine if I would purchase such a large set for them. Who knows,
with inflation, my $100 sets I would get for Christmas long ago could be comparable!

But on the flip side, Lego has been drastically increasing the quantity of sets
with higher prices and complexity. Not to mention entire lines most likely aimed
at AFOLs like Botanicals and Art/Icons sets and their new marketing push for
"Adults Welcome".

Perhaps, but could be blamed on the never ending supply chain and supplier bottleneck
that's been haunting the global since 2020...

Funny.
Go to the following launch page:
[redacted]
Scroll down just a bit and click on the "Entertainment" block. That goes
to:
[redacted]
Scroll down just a bit to the "Read all about it" section and click on
the "Biggest LEGO® Marvel Sets" highlight. That goes to:
[redacted]
Scroll down page to first set.
I don't think a 500USD/500EUR set was designed for kids, and it definitely
wasn't.
A quote from the first page linked above solidifies that.
"Discover LEGO® sets for adults, whatever the passion! Premium, display-worthy
LEGO® sets. Carefully curated and designed specifically for grown-up hands."
(emphasis mine)
I would be returning that set for a full refund if I received what is shown in
the OP as a large portion of the set and its display potential lie in the trans-light
blue windows that completely cover the model.

| I would have LEGO replace them. What will you do if someone buys a large quantity
and you're forced to send both variations?

Yes, definitely a possibility. Or just split them into two different lots with
a comment as such, which is what I was leaning towards anyway.
