| So the question is - Is there a search that can show which set has the most parts
in a certain color, for example Metallic Gold?

It sorts on the total number of parts in the sets, not on the number of parts
(or lots) in that colour.
Well, at least you “only” have 308 inventories to check

Ah yes. So I don't know, maybe it's possible - some here are specialists
on BrickLink weird Catalog queries, I'm not.

Maybe it's correct there are 2.
I tried randomly a few sets inventories, and there's no more than 2 parts
in Metallic Gold in all those Sets.
It's a rare color; try with White instead?
