| - nicely - that their prices might be wrong? One seller (I am not going to write
their name) had two items where the prices were 10 times or more the normal
ones (I had checked by other sellers) and I just asked them if they were sure
they had the correct price? And they never answered back - just blocked me. Well
- anyway - I was never going to pay close to 22 Euros for one single technic
brick, nor a small dome for the similar price. But would you, if you were a seller
- not like to know if your prices might have been entered wrongly?

Were their other prices higher than average? Some sellers prices consistently
above average, especially if they have lots of hard to find parts.
If they price near the average for most items then a couple are 10x higher than
expected, it might be a mistake. But if they consistently price above average
then it is more likely to be intentional.
It can also happen if the part has reduced in price significantly if it was re-released
in a new set.
Personally, I wouldn't bother informing them and I'd buy from another
seller that is selling the same part at a 10x lower price.

No - it was just the prices of those two items that were way over all other prices.
And yes - I bought my pieces other places. It just happened to be that seller,
who had all the pieces I needed for my build. I found them by 3 other sellers
- but you know - then one happens to find a lot of other 'oh-they-might-be-nice-to-have-now-we-are-here-anyway-and-the-postage-is-the-same'

If it were me, I would want to know. The item will never sell. Maybe I'd
eventually notice.
I used to notify sellers when they had items listed as N/A instead of their color.
I don't do it much anymore because a seller jumped down my throat and blocked
me. I don't konw...

Thank you for your answer. Well some sellers can be rather 'touchy' apparently.
But to block me instead of answering. A bit rude, right?

It's fair to mention (as others have said) if it appears to be a mistake,
most sellers are appreciative.
There is no alert system on Bricklink for sellers to see unusually 'high'
prices.
Mistakes athat I have seen mostly are items that are missing a decimal - $10
instead of 10 cents or similar.
This is why I always place some type of average or max cost in the wanted list
to catch those outlier prices.
Some people clearly value their bricks more than others!
On the other hand I have had a few potentially buyers ask for a price reduction
on a part that is unusual or with only a few other listings. I don't block
people and I at least consider the request... but for pricy items I have usually
already considered it at listing.

It's rude to block someone just for asking info about a price.
But that could depend also on how you asked the question...
In a general meaning, prices are free to set, and some specialized shops with
HUGE number of lots (20K to 50K) have a higher, much higher price.
The price is also the service, and to acquire 50K is *a lot* of permanent work,
then the part price itself can be negligible compared to the cost of the service.

Actually, I have no qualms about notifying a seller of an obvious pricing error.
It messes with the Price Guide. If a seller blocked you for doing this, then
count yourself lucky to have avoided a transaction with an unreasonable person.

Maybe others are right and I'm being cynical/uncharitable, but frequently
when I try to buy my wanted list for a project, I'll hit stores with a good
selection coering most of my parts, and overall decent prices, but somewhere
in the list there's one or two random less-common, but not rare, bricks priced
at several dollars or more, instead of the $0.10-0.50 that they should be, and
I assume the seller is trying to pad their sales $$, hoping buyers will just
click okay on their list and not notice the outrageously overpriced item slipped
in there.

| I can confirm 9 times out of 10 it’s a mistake with pricing. Even if the number
dosnt look like it could be from a pricing mistake it often is. sometimes when
trying to list and item for say $1.35 I might accidentally type in $4365 which
is if my hand is 1 key level to high up on the keyboard. This is just one example
but when you list hundreds and thousands of items price mistakes do happen somewhat
frequently but most are caught before they are actually listed but some inevitably
make it thru

the price may differ because a few things.
1. The part is rare or hard to find
2. The Seller advertises that it is new
3. The Seller advertises that the part was never touched by human hands and that
it was removed strait from the box.
hope this helps : )

It was obviously a mistake with those two items - or as one pointed out 'the
seller might have tried to sneak in too high prices.' But here the prices
were so absurdly high -like 22 Euro for one single brick, that it must have
been a mistake. And then the seller blocked me! Well - with that attitude the
seller might not sell much here. And I wasn't impolite or anything. I just
asked if there might be a mistake.
