  feedback question
hello i have a question about feedback.if a customer received the order and set
it to complete but hasn't left any feedback about the order yet. what do
you do do you give feedback to the customer? or do you wait until the customer
has given feedback on the order? or do you send a message to the customer that
they still have to fill in the feedback? please your opinion

Some people do ; some people wont , give feedback.
Personally i do give completed orders after some days feedback.

But mostly i will post the feedback after the customer left theirs.

If they wont i will do it to clear to order awaiting feedback notice..

But i would say; if a customer did not leave feedback their expercience was mostly
positive. Sadly as humans we tend to remark the negative and if all is well :
its how it suppose to be but we forget to compliment it sometimes.

If the customer has paid in a timely fashion, they have honored a contract and
deserve a positive feedback on the spot.

Feedbacks (including positive ones) can always be retracted if the customer is
somehow abusive or unusually uncooperative during a problem with the order after
it was received.

I find the whole feedback issue frustrating. I want to know there are no problems
before submitting feedback. I have had situations where I get a "received"
message and then learn the recipient has an issue that needs resolution. Giving
it upon receipt of payment is not a good idea since the package may get lost
or stolen (especially in today's climate). Then there seem to be buyers who
won't send feedback until they receive it. That is backwards.

It also seems people are sending it less often even after I give positive feedback.

I wish there was a status of "Recieved, but with issues" (or something
similar). That way it's clear to the buyer and seller that the order is not
complete, there is a problem that may/may not be resolved, before the order is
finally "Complete."

Reason I have come to the forum now is regarding feedback. I don’t sell to much,
but trying to build a solid feedback reputation is frustrating. I have nearly
40 sales with no feedback left, a good 90% of the order statuses is still stuck
on my update of shipped. Does anyone have a good way to encourage feedback to
be left?

Order status: this is NORMAL.
Do not ask buyer to change anything on the status, and don't change it yourself!

In 2023 you order something, you receive it and you're satisfied.
Buyer shouldn't have to say "It's OK, I received it complete and
I'm happy".

When Dan wrote the site in 2000 the Internet distance selling was pretty young,
and it was different.

Feedback? Just say somewhere "I'd be happy to receive your positive feedback"
and give the link if possible.

Apart this, you shouldn't try to get more feedbacks.

And note that buyers, in general, don't even look at the feedback profile.
In short having 20 or 100 more Positives basically won't change anything
in your sales.

I think the best way to "encourage" feedback is to just do a good job
of packaging, shipping fast, and describing items accurately.

It may be different in the US, but here I think around 60% of buyers leaving
feedback means you're doing fine. If you're around 50%, you may have
some problems. Buyers are hesitant to leave negative feedback because they're
afraid of retaliation, so a lot of them will just not leave you feedback at all
if they're unhappy.
