I vaguely recall problems when Lego moved to its current system with some members
losing points and having to deal with customer service to reclaim them. I recommend
tracking your points in the coming days, especially if you retain large balances.

See article of changes to Lego site (Aug. 21) on Brothers Brick:

I will agree that in the past I had MAJOR issue for nearly 3 years of not understanding
why my VIP points never seemed to go up. after digging and talking with a CS
who had no issues resolving it was claimed that at some point I lost my card
and while I did get a new one the old number never got tied to the new acct number
on the card. With a Acct cross-reference and merge all the stuff was there Plus
the missing 8K in unaccounted points I had. To me as long as its getting tied
to something in the system. It should be there....
Just a thought. I recognize this is a different case but I was surprised the
amount of info and stuff that they had on record for me to fix the problem. there
was even a Purchase that as anal as I am with receipts didn't know I made
until she confirmed what I bought. I was like Holy cow I forgot all about where
that came from.

Cheers
Wayne

The change seems to have gone smoothly: no points lost on my account.
Just a new stupid treasure hunt….

And the scanning thing is wack. I tried scanning some basic parts and it said
they weren’t part of the database and it took about 5-10 minutes of scanning
a 2-3 plate before it finally recognized it

Yeah, that’s what they said in the comments on the Brickset article.  It also
seems to want a LEGO logo somewhere, so don’t waste your time with parts without
one.

Frankly, scanning parts to win a coloring book, scanning instructions for €0.0267
in points… meh.
If I had a kid with nothing to do, maybe I would try to have them do it… but
I think they quickly would find something more interesting, like stay on their
bed looking at the ceiling.

I thought I had heard it was closer to 10-15 cents each

Yeah, I was wrong by a factor 5
(750 points = €5, not €1)
