| Recently acquired a variation on 240-1 which is a storage box.
My lid is red with the word Lego emblazoned on it.
There are a few out there.
But Bricklink has a different lid, a large grey lego plate as lid cover.
I do not know if this is older or younger.
I do know its from the 1960s.

Maybe add this as '240-2'? You can do that from the catalog add page.
